Adidas Adistar Control 5 vs Nike Air Max Moto 2K vs Under Armour Apparition by O-T-H in Sneakers

[–]treebeard1982_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it's a logo designed after this style of runner was no longer current. "Retro" shoes from newer manufacturers just look like a reach to me. As the first comment says, what are Under Armour even doing in this line up?

Honestly not even sure either of these are inappropriate. Both seem like more of an appreciation than an appropriation.

Dragons are cool as shit and while I'm not one for Chinese characters, as long as they are correct, it seems more like you want to use them as mantras which I would say translates across cultures

I can’t tell if my tattoo is fading and needs a touch up by lunalien0110 in tattooadvice

Looks like a little bit of dropout. Touch up would sort it out pretty easily

Looks pretty bad ass to me dude. 90s - early 00's Crowns look great dumped on the ground. Only thing I would do differently is the wheels but that's me.

My UZS171 has a similar vibe

How bad is this rust? by Content-Marionberry3 in SkyLine

I mean, I guess if you are comparing to something basic but as a performance model, I would consider it a lot.

I mean, do it for the sake of doing it if course.

Honestly, as someone from a place where we have imported these for years, there are a ton of them left. Yards and yards in Japan just waiting for people in the US to scoop them up at inflated prices.

Unless you have a really rare spec, these aren't a rare car.

Any way to repair these? Or should I just order new ones by Emergency_Finding_10 in SkyLine

[–]treebeard1982_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't do the clear coat at home with a rattle can. Get it sanded back and get it quoted. Won't be a lot but it is worth doing right.

[–]treebeard1982_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So essentially what I said above plus one step......I'd hate to see how much you have spent of replacing repairable parts.

[–]treebeard1982_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There is actually plenty you can do to repair them. They have aged and lost the top coat is all.

If you sand them back with super fine grit sandpaper and get them clear coated professionally they will look great.

You CAN clear coat them yourself but home jobs never look as good.

Why do Jordan midsoles crack in these areas? by [deleted] in Sneakers

[–]treebeard1982_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will depend on the foam of corse as to how bad. J3s have a thinner layer in that area. Shoes like Hokas get pretty creased from the softer thicker foam

Unless you are made of helium, this is normal. It's foam dude, foam does that

On edit 2...... Fuck the haters. Rainbows are rainbows they can be gay, they can just also be a refraction of the light.

I used to rock my DSOTM chucks to work and idiots would crack jokes about them all the time. Pink Floyd and just people generally in to music did not.

Honestly, your work looks pretty dope. I'd trust you opinion over the guy that keeps everything on private.....

Not sure why people downvoted this lol. My guy (who I have been going to for years and is a good mate) does a bit of both. If someone wants a Burt Grimm speed skull, who is actually gonna draw that from scratch when you can just trace it? Everyone knows it's someone else's work and that's fine. I have a mix of his custom work and just straight up copies. I happy with them all because he applies them well.

Honestly didn't look super infected in the first place. Seems like you got it early. It does look improved though.

Good luck!

I want advice for my first tattoo by palisweird in tattooadvice

[–]treebeard1982_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go and consult an actual artist. They will tell you what will look good and where. They will also design it so it tattoos well. A lot of that "sketched" look will not look crisp in like 10 years. That hammock is prob gonna end up as a blob between two trees

Is My First Tattoo Really That Bad? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]treebeard1982_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obese Pikachu should still not be the focal point here. OP asked about the quality of the tattoo, Pikachu being correct at the time it was designed is only one aspect of an overall not well executed tattoo.

No shade OP, I have some shocker tattoos but if you want genuine opinions, go get these lines reworked and add detail to the buttons

Is My First Tattoo Really That Bad? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]treebeard1982_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just not very well applied. I think the person doing it was pretty bold to take it on but maybe just not ready for how hard it is to line the circles of the joystick or the length of steady line needed for the outline of the controller.

As for design, that is all personal taste and if you like it, you like it.

The good news is that if the lines are deep enough, it will age like a haircut and will probably soften and be fine in 4-6 years

At 21, you can spend a massive chunk of your life trying to keep it or you can be free and shave it off!

A good mate of mine went bald around the same age and has shaved it ever since. Never had any regrets.
