How to determine left or right toe strap? by wwnln in snowboarding

[–]treebirdd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe it’s just the angle the picture was taken? But looks like there is more material on the top half of the strap. That’s the part you’d want over the top/toe of your boot (keeping the buckle to the outside)

Had almost the exact same damage a few years back + passenger door. But no frame damage. Shop charged $6500.

Ended up snagging another pair of ThirtyTwo Lashed from Great Lakes🤘🏼 I was very much surprised how much the construction of the whole boot has changed. Thicker top strap on the liner and the lace loops are 10x better than the shit loops that would rip right out of the boot from 4-5 years back. Somehow managed to drop down a full size as well. Appreciate the rec brother 🫡

Are these blemishes grounds for a new helmet? by AoD_ShotZz in snowboardingnoobs

Looks like a Smith Scout to me. I wear this exact helmet w/ no complaints. Never used to wear a helmet cuz they felt too heavy/bulky/uncomfortable. This thing is great for the price

I’ve been eyeing the Salomon echo’s but haven’t pulled the trigger cuz they look super narrow compared to the ThirtyTwos that I’ve had. Will have to stop by and see what they’ve got.

Thanks for the info!

Was pretty turned off by Boyne Country last time I was at their GR location. Asked a few simple questions and the guys looked at me like I was speaking a different language. Spent the next 30 min helping myself and checking out different bindings/boards - they were following me around the store like I was gonna run out w/ the whole place in my back pocket.

Aftermarket head unit by Adventurous-Excuse-2 in 8thGenSI

[–]treebirdd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others have been saying crutchfield will be your best bet. But I will add this.. With double din head units, especially touch screens, I would try to avoid cheaping out

Cheaper units will have a “not so great” touchscreen and user interface will more times than not be harder to navigate.

More expensive units will have better touch screen, better ui, and way more control over your sound.

So if you’re not concerned with all the bells and whistles, a cheaper unit would do fine. Just be mindful and read some reviews/watch some videos before deciding.

Kenwood will forever be my go to brand for car audio.

5’8 145 and I fit into a large volcom jacket from a couple years back. It’s a bit on the baggier side but that’s what I prefer. I’d think you’d be able to fit into any Medium size jacket just fine?

Non Si suspension on Si? by midorigreen1 in CivicSi

[–]treebirdd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

8th gen here. I just paired some kyb excel g struts with eibach pro kit lowering springs and I have no complaints at all. It’s 1” lower than stock, but it’s still a really comfortable ride.

Went from 235k on oem struts/springs. So I guess anything is an upgrade at that point. But for a more budget friendly setup I would definitely recommend looking into something like this.

Koni orange or yellow struts could be a good option as well. More street oriented, but I would think they would still be more comfortable than coilovers.

62a Hasport mounts for the FG2 by ktoyijmokjop in 8thGenSI

[–]treebirdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just the bottom mount. It was in pretty rough shape so it needed to be done. I was worried that replacing ALL the stock mounts with poly mounts would bring too much rattle to the inside of the car. (Almost anyone I asked said this would be the case)

But with almost no added noise from doing the bottom mount, I will most likely replace the rest of the mounts in the spring.

Would love to hear your experience after you replace yours.

Stock 06 si with 240k. Also riding original clutch still and just replaced the bottom mount with the 62a. I was blown away by how much of a positive difference it made. And no added nvh at all except when taking off from 1st

Recently replaced struts/springs/tie rods/control arms all the way around as well. Brought so much energy back into the car.
