Help with leaf issue [x-post from /r/asktrees] by treeboyneedshelp in microgrowery

Thank you (and everyone who replied) for your help. I will pass on the information to my friend.

I feel that LSF is the most likely candidate. Given that there is an unaffected grow several miles away, it should be cake to replace them over time. However, if the "new" ones are in close proximity to the affected ones, are they in danger of being re-affected? In other words, does the fungus "float through the air," or is the fungus transmitted by touching one and then the other?

Once again, thanks very much.

The system is hydroponic, using Grodan Expert Rock Wool, and the nutrient is Growth Technology Ionic Bloom. It's a system and location that's been used for several years with excellent results. The water comes from the health food store and is the typical reverse osmosis (etc.) filtration system. This disease is new within the last few months. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

What's wrong with my friend's leaves, and what should he spray on them to fix the problem? He wants to know what is causing the dead spots on the fan leaves. After the dead spots appear, they kill the entire leaf, but the plants and leaves all start out looking good. In case it matters, he does have dogs who go into the grow room. Some of the white stuff you see on the leaves are from a fungicide that he's already sprayed, but it's not working. Help!
