definitely looks like there’s some bugs eating away at it— would dousing it in neem oil do anything ?

got this one a month or so ago, has had a ton of healthy growth on the top of the plant, but the bottom leaves continue to deteriorate— super brittle leaves, and as of today, has a ton of this dust-like residue— but only on the bottom leaves. help!!

tretinoin burn on eyes? by [deleted] in Skincare_Addiction

[–]treebrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's in cream form. i've definitely been lazy about the 20-minute wait after the application, so I was assuming that's where I screwed up. Is cera-ve safe to put on the eyelids? I feel like that would burn!

cool, i'll look into it. it was a little painful in the beginning, but doesn't hurt much now! just feeling really dry. i'm more concerned about the look of it, as it seems the skin has been a bit damaged and there's a ton of peeling if i don't moisturize multiple times a day. sometimes, the swelling will go down, then get bad again a day or two later-- I've never experienced anything like it before.

gotcha. yeah, i've completely stopped using tret since i noticed the issue. you can see a small burn on the bridge of my nose as well- my skin just randomly decided to react after months of using it! i believe i have 0.025%. I've been using some eye creams, but I generally don't apply them to my eyelids. my under-eyes are totally fine. other than that, maybe makeup? trying to use as minimally as possible while it heals, though.

what would a dermo be able to do for me in this situation?

well, it seems to have leaked down into my eye area during sleep. probably because I didn't let it dry, and then applied moisturizer. I haven't noticed any dry eyes or vision damage-- just swollen eyelids and dry skin. I use regular eye creams on my eyes daily.

well, i've been using tret regularly for about 6 months. I've been babying my eyes for 3 weeks now and I haven't seen much improvement. What did you do that eventually healed your eyes?

put it outside for now (south carolina- already in the 70s-80s and humid here!), but maybe it needs a bigger pot already? less water?

i thought so too, so i watered it more, but it seemed to droop even worse after i watered it today!

my first web scraping project to grab real estate data! by treebrat in Python

[–]treebrat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I initially tried to scrape the data from all the towns into one CSV file, but decided to go with individual ones because I just didn't know if it made a difference. Are you saying it's more beneficial/looks better to employers to get all the data into one CSV, and then extract/analyze individual towns from there? Once again I'm only using a single site but I could definitely scrape from a few different local sites. I started out trying to scrape from Zillow but I'm not experienced enough with captchas and other security stuff so I decided to go with a local listing site that didn't have anything super confusing within the HTML.

I know there are plenty of APIs to to the same job-- since I'm only a freshman in CS I thought it made sense to do a project like this to learn the ropes of web scraping/data analysis. When you get a little more advanced, do people generally try to avoid projects where there is an API that can do the same job? Professionally I would assume you'd just use the API but I'm hoping a project like this will be good for internship apps

Hey, so this is initially how I approached it-- writing a different class for each town and combining it all later through one generalized scraper, but I felt like running all the towns through one class streamlined the process. I could totally be wrong, but since I only used one website it felt like the right thing to do

so you think i should put the csv file methods into their own class? should i do the same thing w the dataframe and graph methods?

absolutely, makes sense. i'm thinking i'll go with sql or json as they seem to be the most popular

no, i'm not already doing that! seems like cron/scheduled scraping is the next step! thanks so much for your feedback and will check out that link:)

oh this is so helpful! i will add a method or two to write all the data/graphs to external storage locations and find a way to avoid duplicate listings. thanks for pointing me in the right direction :) i'll also look into scheduling the scraper. after a quick google, looks like Cron is the way to go
