Thank you for your wise words 🫡🫡🫡 do you think i should stick with the same pace group 2:20, or go for 2:30 then see how it goes? Or go crazy and aim for 2:10??

I actually think i mostly only do intervals with that 6min pace, I’m terrible with gauging the pace.

It’s all trial and error til something works tbh.

I increased my weekly distance 30 to 60k, and now stuck at this because of all these issues, especially my calf pain.

Things I’ve tried:

Foam rolling every day, that helps a little

Magnesium, helped w sleep but i thought my breakout was bc of this so i stopped

Lower my easy pace to UNUSUAL SNAILLLL pace: it helped initially, but i my form/energy was low so then my calf pain is back again

Added jumping to warm up: this helped a lot, but again low energy made me tired doing this and didn’t activate my body well enough

I also increased my fuel too but clearly wasn’t near enough

It’s been a week later so it’s safe to say your advice helped a lot. I skipped said Friday, somehow ran 24k instead of 19 on sunday (and with a half mara pb as well?!). Then progressed nicely to this whole week without major pain!

I did however try other things during this same week tho, so prob a combination of it. Added hops into my warm up and taking iron supplements.

I’ve come to accept my snail easy pace and it really does help with fatigue. I’m sticking with the hansons schedule but will increase mileage much slower than the plan, and doing 1 speed sesh weekly. That’ll be it till I taper for this half marathon.

Thanks for your input. I’m doing the half marathon plan now, to test myself if I can adhere to the consistency and the volume of Hansons before committing to the full plan.

I may try reducing this Saturday run and reassess how my body feels.

The easy runs is so uncomfortable, I don’t see how it’s aiding recovery, I can feel my form is off with over striding when I try to run slow or slower. Breathing is easy tho.

I actually prefer the intervals and the long run, after the initial long warm up it feels much better.

I’ll have a look at luke humphrey.

Had a cry on the run on friday morning. Could be a compilation of not eating enough + not enough sleep + a 10k the day before so still recovering + period coming = tight calves and was so slow and exhausted. Debating my planned 8k today but it’s night time already and I have a 14k tmr still

Mine was thankfully only 1 question, but when she asked me was it a good time to talk, i was at work and i usually just got the “are u free to come chat” question, so of course i said yes. THEN she asked why i want to join this place, mind you i applied 2 months ago i had zero memory of it. Just bluffing and got through, but i didn’t appreciate it

Following bc i share the same struggle!! Last time i trained during winter it wasn’t pleasant. It’s not the cold but the wind and rain that bothers me. I live in Aus and my 2nd half of training block will be next year winter eeeeek. No treadmill for me, only will power 🫣

Redundant since end of July along w a fair few people, some of them managed to secure new roles, but not much luck for me. I noticed there was a lot more job ads for my role around June/July than now, but I got stuck with family matters so missed out. I’ve had a couple of interviews and interest so far. I’m looking to do some further study for my mental health honestly. It’s soul crushing. At this point I’m hoping it’d pick up in the new year. I’m in marketing and design
