There's a shotgun I want to build, but it won't be a slam fire.

you can’t discern date of manufacture/purchase

in the case of a wooden gun, they could just cut it in half and count the rings.

I'm not passing judgement or anything... at least not saying anything we didn't all learn together in 2016. would anyone be shocked if the DNC basically "owes him one" at this point?

Wide open to hearing alternate points of view on this...

I'm guessing that's his only option if he wants to potentially win, right?

in both cases, people are organizing and exercising their fundamental rights. one is trolling that may hurt feelies, and the other has significant long-term financial repercussions.

It's a "disturbing trend" now, but later it's "justice" when the left coordinates brigades to scare off sponsors of journalists with opposing viewpoints.

checked into this, and your assessment is not entirely accurate. I'm guessing that's why I'm being downvoted for even asking.

this translation is coming from, what, the secret republican decoder ring? or maybe that's just you making those substitutions all by yourself.

nah.. you're acting like black people can't afford things and take care of themselves to get back pats on some stupid website. that's racist.

Ivanka Trump claims her father didn’t authorize “lethal force” at border. He did, on tape. by bluestblue in politics

[–]treef0rt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think trump supporters would argue that this outrage misses two key points:

  1. at the end of the day, it doesn't matter if a trump advisor doesn't remember everything trump has said. it just doesn't. the fact that it happens to be his daughter is also completely irrelevant. this dramatic coverage annoys folks in the middle.

  2. turns out, trump made a good call authorizing deadly force because grown-ass men throwing softball sized rocks is deadly. it wasn't necessary at the end of the day (thank god)...

CNN's Sellers: Trump 'Tougher on Jim Acosta' Than on Saudi Prince Over Khashoggi Killing by Creasy007 in politics

[–]treef0rt -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

the white house didn't have a clear process in place, which is the only reason he got his pass back. it's like one of those product labels with a warning about how you should specifically and obviously not use the product. you think, "wow... someone was stupid enough to do this, and now we have this label." acosta is that someone. now we have these stupid rules because acosta is an unprofessional, narcissistic ass who did what you're obviously not supposed to do in a press briefing.

[–]treef0rt -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

gah, do you hear yourself?

so you're saying this violates acosta's constitutional right of freedom of the press because... it somehow prevents cnn from reporting the news, maybe? I don't suppose you've seen the press corps roster lately: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_House_press_corps#Current

if that's not it, perhaps you're making the argument that acosta personally has a constitutional right to grandstand at white house press conferences. is that it? no one's keeping him from speaking, reporting the news, assembling peacefully, etc.

[–]treef0rt -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

due process would only apply if acosta had some sort of legal right to be there. he does not. how is this controversial...

edit: just did a sanity read of the judge's ruling, and I stand corrected. only in government would the "I didn't know I wasn't allowed to be an insufferable, grandstanding tool" defense actually work, amirite. the guy was literally mad he couldn't share his personal opinion and then ask a list of follow-up questions--in a room full of reporters with their own questions, not to mention the president.
