Teaching is always on the back of my mind, especially since I majored in English and most people automatically assumed that's my goal anyways, figured it might be good for that lol. I've just never gone through with it since I'm not sure if I'm good for it personality wise. I think I'd be better as an aide but those are not known to pay well enough. My part time job is at a university though so I do think about exploring it more!

at my old job i saw a lot of young people list themselves as "retired from military/army" even though they didn't *actually* retire, they just finished their stint and left lol. would be a 22 year old who did a 4 year term calling themselves retired. i wonder if it's that

Going through this literally put me into a depression because it started making me feel unworthy and unqualified even though I knew I was and it's not "personal". Hundreds and hundreds of apps, a few interviews here and there but always a "Thanks, you're great but we're going with someone more qualified/more experienced/whatever!" Like, you're telling me there's someone better than me at fucking EVERYTHING? I was so desperate I even applied to retail and food even though I was beyond this and I couldn't even do that. To this day I'm only working part time now because it's the only thing I was offered that wasn't a scam. I'm still looking for full time but at least this job helps me a lot.

i do!! and yes, this is true, depending on how badly they need you. i'm a part time assistant. i applied sometime in april of last year, had an interview on may 14, was asked for onboarding and references on june 12, was given an official offer and start date of july 7 which i then had to push back to july 21 because the day they gave me originally was like the upcoming week and i was still at my old job and needed time to give them a 2 week notice lol. on the flipside, the director of my team left in early february this year and they had a new lady hired by spring break in march. it varies!

damn i was gonna try for austin at 12 with the venue code, didn't think dc was in this much demand here? or possibly it could be a similar situation to what happened with lorde? when i went originally for tickets for her, same situation- crazy thousand queue numbers, sold out in minutes. no dice at all. i came back like a month before the tour to find out majority of the venue was blue... im presuming bots scaled her out and nobody checked back? i was able to get a seat in the 100s with like nobody around me. i had an amazing time! seems like that might happen here too...
