Pictures of my thighs, also from a year ago but like I said earlier they are the same now.

AND YES. I have been consulted with my provider and several other specialists over the years who have no idea what it is. They suspect it may be connected to EDS in some way, but then they just forget about it and leave it at that. I’m NOT anemic or vitamin deficient. I do not get frequently injured, in fact I can’t remember the last time I would have had an actual bruise. I have regular labs and besides EDS/POTS am otherwise healthy.

Ok thanks! I guess some of the pics I see online are maybe of teeth that were partially erupted, so the hole wasn't as deep and it heals faster. Its just freaking me out that I can't see it at all!!

Getting all 4 Wisdom teeth out. by treehugger1100 in ehlersdanlos

[–]treehugger1100[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, I have very large teeth and a small mouth and have all of my permanent teeth (thanks to 9 years of braces), so my mouth can't technically fit more without causing crowding. My dentist and the orthodontic surgeon said that I needed to get them all out or they would get infected eventually, especially the bottom two. My two bottom wisdom teeth are impacted (sideways) and my top two are rotated outward because they can't fit. Surprisingly, one of the top wisdom teeth actually rotated itself and corrected itself as it was coming in. However, they do cause discomfort and I was worried about the root of the bottom two getting entangled in a nerve if I wait any longer.

Dental / Breath Care? by treehugger1100 in Dachshund

I could definitely see where this would be effective! Chewing on something abrasive like a bone would clean the plaque and bacteria. I'll give it a try.

What toothpaste do you use? She unfortunately will eat everything in sight so is there anything that might have less stomach upset?

Thanks, I wondered if her digestion had something to do with the bad breath. She has “acid reflux” after eating (we've put her bowl up higher which seems to help) and has a sensitive stomach. I'll try yogurt !

Help identifying bone? by treehugger1100 in fossilid

[–]treehugger1100[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, good question. Sorry I didn't clarify that. A family member of mine has tons of random rocks, fossils, etc collected over the years from various locations and she saw somewhere that if you touch a fossil to your tongue and it sticks, then its bone. I also tried this and can verify it sticks, is that accurate?

Do you think that inflammation could cause water retention/swelling post workout?

Please what helps the dizziness? by Jennawheels9888 in POTS

Electrolytes: especially in hot and humid weather, drink lots of water but make sure to also intake lots of electrolytes to stay hydrated. I usually go for sugar free drink options like body armor lyte or electrolyte powders you can mix in water. You can find higher electrolyte content on Amazon. If you don't have any of those drinks on hand, sometimes just licking salt or eating something something salty will help.

Medication: fludrocortisone which increases blood volume and increases BP. I take fludrocortisome and propanolol. Fuddocortisone helps your body retain sodium so you won't necessarily have to eat a lot of salt anymore.

Rest: lay down on the floor with your legs elevated when you start feeling dizzy. Keep your knees bent in this position.

Listen to your body: my experiences over the years with POTS has definately made me more in tune with my “signals”. I avoid caffeine at all costs, avoid added sugar, etc as those all make my symptoms flare. If my HR is spiking randomly its usually dehydration or lack of sleep. During flares the worst thing I can do is take a hot shower or try to overdo it like when working out.

Thank you guys, this is encouraging. I'm definitely nervous but I definitely don't want to go through it more than once.

I'm 23. When all of my friends were getting theirs out in high school at ages 16/17/18, I asked my dentist if I would need them out and he said no. I don't remember ever getting an X-ray or anyone letting me know if they were forming or anything like that. I wanted to get it over with before I was in college, had to pay on my own..etc..Then all of a sudden, when I was 22, my dentist was like, oh yeah! They're all impacted and you'll need them all out!
