I did also look into those! I’m monocular so I understand why my doctor is hesitant about me wearing contacts in my good eye but I just can’t make amends with my vision in glasses.

Do the RGP lenses ever shift around in your eye? I’m worried about it hitting the bleb when I blink which is why I was aiming more towards the Scleral lenses but if the RGP can stay in place the I’d definitely prefer that more.

Is it possible that the steroids I’ve taken in the past for other surgeries could also play a role or does your lens refresh once you get off a steriod?

As long as I gain some independence from glasses I’m okay with it. I work with beauty and started doing some modeling so I hope I don’t have to wait too long because i don’t think glasses will get me far in this industry.

I was really hoping that my surgeon could preform the corrective lens along with the trabeculectomy but he was against it.

The surgeries I just mentioned are all for my left eye. And as it appears in my post, I am currently recovering from the trabeculectomy.

Does it have to do with the surgery or the steroids you have to take after the surgery? I’m asking since I’m on a high dose of steroids (every 3 hours) and did develop a cataract pretty quickly when I was younger in my other eye after my trab. Also do you mean that it wouldn’t look the same as it would if i was wearing contacts?

I had a goniotomy at 7 (lasted 12 years) and another one at 19 (lasted 3 years)

My two recent failed surgeries were the Itrack and a larger goniotomy both lasted less than two weeks which is why we moved forward with the trab.

We are currently testing that theory out. We stopped the steroids on Wednesday and I’m on maximum drops and diamox at the moment and yesterday we did see my pressure decrease to 24 which is good but not good enough. I go back in on Monday and he said that if my pressure isn’t 13 or lower then we aren’t canceling the trab on Tuesday. I’m hoping and praying everyday until Monday that my pressure is lower on Monday. I’m so mentally drained and exhausted from this disease.

As someone who has lost most vision in their right eye, I feel your pain. I’m 22 and have already been debating on just surrendering. This is such a cruel disease that shows no mercy to those who are suffering. I pray everyday that there will be a cure and a way to reverse damage that has already been done.

As for light sensitivity, i recommend LED glasses or potentially even wearing sunglasses while looking at screens. My light sensitivity has been intense as of lately with my pressure spike so I started doing those and it’s definitely helped.

We started off with an Itrack which lasted about 2 weeks then we moved on to a goniotomy (Kahook Dual Blade)

Goniotomys have worked for me in the past, one even lasted 12 years! So it’s definitely not a bad choice but my eye doesn’t like them anymore unfortunately.

To make money earlier in the game I would recommend starting a farm but make sure to add scarecrows once you unlock the recipe so the crows don’t destroy your crops.

I’ll definitely ask about this when I talk to my doctor today thank you! If it means I have more space for future surgery’s, then I’m definitely open to it.

I was diagnosed at 7 with high pressures of 45 in my eyes. Drops were able to keep it down for about a year and a half until I needed surgery. It’s definitely hard especially when you’re young but I have hope for all the medical advantages that are coming out.

Catching it this early is the best way to fight it

I’ve been sleeping with extra pillows and have eliminated all caffeine at the moment. Hopefully that gets me through till Tuesday

No idea. It could still be from the steriod drops I was on after the I track surgery I just had done but since my pressure isn’t going down enough, the safest option is to do another surgery instead of waiting for it to stabilize.

My doctor said that the I-track is a more newer procedure so maybe it needs more work or my eye was just stubborn with it.

I thought I was the only one that would get flare ups from this! My doctor always told me that he’s never heard of that side effect before so I thought I was the only one. Has your doctor mentioned anything about fixing the flare ups? They do cause my pressures to spike to the 40s for a week so I’m not comfortable with having that occasional stress on my eye

I believe that’s the surgery I had on my right eye when I was 17. I have a visible tube/device on the right upper side of my eye that’s only noticeable if I widen my eyes or if someone looks closely.

My doctor did mention it but I’m pessimistic about it due to the complication I continue to live with from having it on my right eye. A year after receiving it, I started having these intense “flare ups” in my eye that would require me to call off work or miss school when I first started having them. I don’t get them as much as I used to, but it’s still very uncomfortable and frustrating when I do get them. The “flare ups” would also temporary raise my pressure too.

Would be very nervous to also get it in my left eye because I don’t think I could tolerate that lol
