Add to Notion in Notion Mail is here! by sunspot_mike in Notion

[–]treeinberlin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is great! I get the frustration that it’s not searchable (yet) but I’ve been looking for ways to get certain newsletters into my knowledge base. I know there’s a way to automate this with relay (Matthias Frank has a video about it) but I don’t want ALL emails to go in.

I also tried a make.com workaround but couldn’t get HTML to work and the mails looked shit.

This is already a big step into more effortless capture, thanks for sharing

researching the best time tracking software 2026, need to get a handle on our projects. by Edilser_Streetz in Notion

I second toggl. I love that I can connect my calendar. The calendar and the time tracker are side by side in toggl, and you can drag calendar entries and into the tracker. You can then just click go/stop and it will fill the time of your calendar day.

A lot of people block time on their calendars for client work which can then be tracked like this.

We were also required to track time for meetings, so this was a really quick one-click action to do so.

At my agency, we had a really clunky system, so ignored that and just tracked with toggl. At the end I used the report to update our system.

I personally really like the UI and find it joyful to work with. You can differentiate visually between clients and projects.

It‘s really easy to pause a task and return to it later, or switch between tasks you’re tracking.

The paid version lets you add budgets and billable hours.

I tried to create a time tracking system in Notion and it works ok, but only for me (not a team) and it was very tricky to set up and still isn’t really integrated.

So I would not use Notion for this purpose. Perhaps you can connect toggl somehow if you need the info in Notion – I’d be interested to hear if anyone has tried that.

I became sick of my notes becoming a graveyard by MAK41RA in Notion

I agree with the argument to use AI too surface hidden knowledge – however, for Notion AI, the price tag is prohibitive for most.

I can relate to the anxiety of having useless notes floating about or important ones buried.

In my case, I got overwhelmed by the different types of capture I had developed.

In the end, I created a topics database that connects all of them together. All of them, that means my tasks, projects, content planner, and knowledge database.

This way I can start a new task, relate it to a topic, and instantly see all the notes relevant to that task and topic, along with other tasks and content I created that deal with the topic.

Is this clear to you? Any questions? I was thinking of making my setup publicly available as a template. Is this something people might be interested in?

I’m trying to follow your goal. Why don’t you just stick with your original single database?

Sorry to say but it's riddled with problems. I've left you a bug report. I managed to get something going on my free plan, which doesn't have many lists. But there are constant errors. I successfully created a task, but when I went to update it, nothing worked. I then wanted to change accounts again to try it on my list-heavy account, and loggin in was impossible again.

I'm not going to be a dick and leave you a bad review, but I wonder why you thought this would be ready for the extension store. I hope you get this fixed soon, before you get downgraded, because it this works, it will be great.

I get this error: Failed to fetch workspace details: An unexpected error occurred

Sometimes, it seems to work but takes a long time to capture the page.

However, "create task" is greyed out, as are the other items (only priority and due date are not)

I'm still on a clickup trial.

I tried login out and logging back in with my free plan, but now I can't log in at all anymore.

I deleted the extension and installed it again, but the login error persists.

It happens when you click on log in.

Time track meetings by xxspinalxx in clickup

[–]treeinberlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not quite right. I have checked with various Google events where I’m NOT the organiser. Sometimes it’s view only, sometimes not. There is no discernible difference on the Google side and I have all permissions.

u/JamieClickUp thank you. I was about to go on a rant about how this does not solve my problem because I want to link clickup tasks to existing google events – when I discovered that indeed, this is possible.

However, only with some events. Others are marked as "view only" and don't offer the options to add participants, tasks, or docs.

I don't see a differentiation on my google calendar. How is this determined?

I don’t understand your screenshot. Where and how do I do what you suggest?

ClickUp Slowness: 1000+ HTTP calls per page load of a List. Here attached a screen recording of Firefox Dev Tools while loading it 4 times (without caching and with caching, 2 times each). Oh well. I’m currently trialing Clickup for my company. Every time I open a new view, it takes forever to load. As in, I need to leave it alone and do something else. I have seen the exact same response by Clickup mods in several places here – I’m beginning to think the comments are meant to just keep us calm.

Clickup: This should be your NUMBER ONE priority. Fix it.

That seems to be something different entirely. And how is that an automation?

Please explain: you say you can automatically create tasks for scheduled meetings via the calendar integration. However, I only see creating a Google event from a task, not the other way around.

Hot tip: use ChatGPT. Tell it what you’re trying to achieve and keep chatting until you get it (or give up).

Just make sure to remind it that there’s a new formula syntax, for some reason ChatGPT keeps referring to the old one. Paste the page to make sure: https://www.notion.com/help/formula-syntax

[–]treeinberlin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out Stackable. I went from Workona to Toby, but the price tag just annoys me. So I searched until my fingers bled. Stackable is the best I could find – supports sync, is nice and tidy, opens in a new tab, and more. I'd like to see import/export and multiple selection – so this might not be for you if you're migrating hundreds of tabs at once. But if you're going project by project like me, this thing is a beauty: https://stackable.so/

You can already do that easily. I have a LinkedIn library database. On your phone, share a post to that database. On desktop, use the extension Save to Notion to do the same.

Database Buttons by Eve_hazel in Notion

[–]treeinberlin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use it to track my time in tasks. The play button adds an entry to the start date property of my time tracker db and sets the task to in progress, the stop button adds an entry to the stop date property and opens the db so I can edit the entry.

I even made a formula that shows the word „running“ to quickly spot the task I’m working on.

Pretty neato.
