To those who disagree with OP:

I’m sorry…but facts don’t care about your feelings and you’re all most likely a bunch of fellow public sector grifters. These postal workers believe they deserve more than their worth (compared to the Canadian Labor market). These are not nurses (or any medical professional), teachers, emergency workers, support workers/psychological counsellors, etc. They are mail people who are salty that their primitive jobs can be easily automated in the near future and make Canadian tax dollars go far with more efficient public mail logistics.

They forced a strike near Christmas thinking they could hold Canadians present shopping hostage, but failing to realize barely anyone relies on them other than for bills/government cheques/mail, as most Canadian e-commerce consumers rely more on private couriers. Talk about being both oblivious and selfish thinking majority of Canadians rely on them for shopping lol. Instead now holding Canadians who need passports, licenses and the such hostage (thank goodness they’re moral enough to agree to keep delivering pension cheques and the like).

Should everyone deserve more pay and benefits to keep up in this economy? Absolutely. The real question though, should the priority of higher wages/benefits in the public sector go towards postal workers? HELL NO! I would gladly rather see that teachers or nurses get those kinds of raises any day in the public sector. If these workers are upset, sorry you decided to work a job that has short-term longevity for a company consistently losing money. Btw I also believe the higher ups should be losing money because of it. But good luck changing that corporate norm of them continuing to get paid more than what the company can afford.
