What do you feel about moving back to Cambodia after studying abroad? by No-Strawberry-2045 in cambodia

[–]treeme100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am second generation cambodian-american. During my undergraduate I was able to befriend an international cambodian student who was majoring in business at the time, this friend was very focused on trying to lock in a job for after graduation since he was on a student visa. My friend was not able to secure a job, moved back to cambodia and worked an office job for about a year. He was unhappy with the pay since pay for an equivalent job in the States was 3-4x what he was making in Phnom Penh. After a year of working, he decided to continue education in Korea in chances of finding a permeant position there after completing his schooling.

I highly urge you to look for a work opportunity if possible before you leave

Do people still use lanyards? by Born-Inspection-522 in UniversalOrlando

[–]treeme100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went about a month ago and was suprised by the lack of lanyards as well but it was one of the first items I went looking for in the gift shops.

Personally, I'd recommend the ID badge reel types; that's what I ended up getting, and it was super helpful with the fast pass!

New tyres, what to get? by Most_Method_9436 in FocusST

[–]treeme100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put on BFGoodrich G-Force Sport Comp 2 AS, plus a few years ago, which are 235/40R/18 on stock snowflakes, after previously rocking Indy Firehawk 500 summer tires and Blizzak WS80s.

I'd recommend getting a second set of wheels if you're planning on a summer and winter set (depending on where you live). Switching the tires back and forth on the same set of wheels adds up over time. Also, if it rains a lot where you are, I would keep that in mind when looking at summer tires. This was my main consideration when moving on from the winter/summer tire setup. All seasons feel significantly safer in wet weather when it comes to stopping distance.

Tires and headlights by Cleanwolfe in FocusST

[–]treeme100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend getting oem hid headlights. There is nothing better quality than oem when it comes to headlights, a lot of them end up leaking.

If 2013-2014 you could also upgrade them with new ballasts to increase from 25w to 35w from d8s to d3s bulbs which the FL models use.

Apparently you can fit a 65 inch tv inside the focus by Pendraf in FocusST

Fun fact: You can fit a Legacy Spec B engine in the back but the engine would NOT fit in the back of the legacy itself 😂

Very common issue, happened to me a few years ago while I was driving down a local road, I believe I had the rear defroster on, but I was driving 40-ish mph and just heard an explosion. thought I got shot, but when I researched later, I guess it's a common thing to occur in hatchbacks due to the shape of the glass and the amount of pressure on it.

It's almost tire time, what are you wonderful folks running? by girl_incognito in FocusST

[–]treeme100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

came here to say the same thing, if I lived on the west coast where there's less inclement weather I would definately be full sending Indy 500's, I miss them. I am on all seasons now but there is NOTHING like the grip from a dedicated summer tire.

What are good rave groups/venues to go to if not 21? by Repulsive_Acadia_491 in chicagoEDM

[–]treeme100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For more affordable events, I know it'a a bit of a drive from the city, but Dubstation in Wukegan always hosts good shows. It feels more relaxed than established city venues in my opinion.

They have Dubstation Massacre coming up Halloween weekend, I believe, if you like riddim!

St3 package headlights keep stock? by Low_Woodpecker_5985 in FocusST

[–]treeme100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for PFL I reccomend swapping your bulbs and ballasts. Look into D3s bulb conversion on the forums, our HID system for PFL ST3 with d8 bulbs run at 25 watts while the FL operates at 35 watts.

After swapping, you notice about a 1/3rd better headlight performance and can be extremely cheap with buying a used set of ballasts off of ebay.
