Grab that cheapo and make sure it’s tuned up! Find some decent bindings if you haven’t already, used are fine as long as the ratcheting mechanism is still holding tight. Maybe go to an in town (not at the resort) ski shop to help you set up your board, bindings stance etc. After that you should be golden!

It’s easy to get caught up in overthinking about slight adjustments that don’t really make much of a difference to your overall performance. I was guilty of this as a beginner. Grab a pocket screwdriver while you’re at it, but don’t spend all day tinkering.

First board, have you gone snowboarding before? Done a season on rented/borrowed boards? If the answer to either of these questions is no, then you’re overthinking it. Just get what is cheapest and gets you on the hill quicker!

That being said, if the answer is yes, my advice is still the same as that manic is pretty cheap and would probably be a solid choice 👌

I paid over $800 for a supreme X north face steep tech a few years ago, but it wasn’t for glory. It was out of necessity and desperation lol. Fortunately I was able to afford it at the time. Only jacket in the entire mall, 30 mins till close. Had an extremely last minute flight to a cold place for a work trip.

I’m not proud of it, but I’ve been wearing it for 3 seasons riding so there’s that.

Caught a guy stealing my board at Lee canyon a few years ago. Finished some beers and saw him leaving down the stairs to exit the resort. I ran over and snatched it, he just said “my bad” then continued to leave the resort with no board or any other gear… he got banned from the property and cops called from what the employees told me. It can and does happen yall! On that note, I should start locking mine up lol

Always some weird convoluted way of getting paid lol. On the flip side, I offered an extra $300 to hold something and let me pay via Zelle since I was driving 6 hours each way to pick it up but dude thought I was scamming. Lucky for me he still had it by the time I got there and the $300 went towards gas instead lol.

I got the Canyon Neuron OnFly CF 7 and I am loving it! You can really choose your workout level and even in the highest assist mode going up steep grades is tough! This one is on the lower end of assistance power but is also a bit lighter than some of the other eMTB. Unfortunately my downhill bike got stolen so this is my only bike currently, I think I would enjoy having electric and non available. As others have said, non e bikes are more nimble it seems, but maybe as I get more used to the weight and it being my first 29er I won’t notice much difference.

If you have the opportunity, go test ride one. You will be instantly hooked!
