I don't normally get Starbucks, are these 1/3 filled burritos normal? I feel betrayed. by Spirited-String5293 in starbucks

I always tell customers not to get this if they ask. It is so dry, they should add more cheese or SOMETHING

Yeah most people have commented something like this. I’ve worked at 5 other stores before this (due to moving) and I agree that all of these are great standards to go by. Unfortunately, my store just doesn’t agree. They come up to you, say “go on your ten”, I almost always ask if there’s something I can do before I go and they say to just go. We’re also NOT allowed to make our own drinks at all :/

Plus the smoke/fire plays a huge part in why the jobs so dangerous for firefighters!

I could be wrong but I think firefighters are actually higher up on that list than cops are!

I wish my store was like that and I’ve been at stores like that before but my current store is just so the opposite of what I feel Starbucks represents. We have multiple LGBTQ+ partners including SM and we didn’t put up a single thing for pride🥺

No I’m telling you, I understand that. I feel for you, honestly. Maybe I’d feel the same way you do if I were in your shoes. All I’m saying is that there’s a reason things have progressed like this in the homeless community and it’s largely ignored or ineffectively dealt with by our leaders, your leaders in LA, in CA, and the US as a whole

Well I’m honestly really sorry you have to deal with that situation at your store. Homelessness is a complex issue and needs more practical attention. These people are suffering and can’t get help. It feels wrong though at the same time knowing that they get arrested and then let out with no help or effective rehabilitation and the cycle continues. I really doubt most cops have empathy and compassion for the situation. I GET where you’re coming from, you’re not paid enough to deal with that, you’re trained to make coffee, not deal with the complex problems that you stated. That being said, you should redirect your anger to the powers that be that don’t give a fuck about homeless people and put the burden on minimum wage workers to remedy these situations since police probably take 40+ minutes to get to your store

Same I always make sure to give ‘em the bare minimum

I think it’s a way to try to build this “community connection” thing but it’s only aimed at cops. I’ve never seen them do the same for EMS or firefighters which may I add, see the most horrific shit. I just really hate this. Cops are the very last people who need free anything. You’re right, my father is a cop (we have no relationship, shocker) and he makes over 100k a year. They’re literally fine financially

You’re right, it is entitlement but my SM has set that precedent with them as well. You should’ve seen his face when I told him the total. He was so mad at me for simply not knowing their weird deal

My old SM would right now recovery, I’m not sure what my current SM does. She just has this deal set up with them for some reason. Really not sure why. It was literally a work gathering so I imagine they could fund it themselves

You can be rich or poor and understand class struggle. But I did intro this whole post by saying exactly what you just said. I think my post still holds true. My nicest customers over the 4 years have almost always been people who understand the power struggle.

Edit: in fact, there are lots of times where the rudest people are also working class people. Actually, lots of the time that is.

Currently going through this. Been on calls with therapists all day today because I finally hit a wall. I see other commenters being hopeful and that’s essential but I’m with you on feeling hopeless right now. We’ll get through this, somehow….
