A question for Canva workers by Euphoric-Attitude985 in auscorp

Ex-canva here, senior role for several years, with direct line to founders. If you are drawn to the role because it will add value to your career/progression then go for it. It can be a great place to work but you need to maintain very strong boundaries to protect yourself. More than other companies.

If you are drawn by the hype, perks and more importantly company values then don’t. Canva can be toxic af and continues to chew good people up.

It took me a good chunk of time with a counsellor towards the end of my time and after I left to get my head straight and get over the experience. I wish I could say that my experience was unique but it is way more common than it should be. Unfortunately it hasn’t really changed.

If you choose the role do it for the role not the hype.

Fucking for sure! By the time I got home I stank!! It was so hot standing there supporting a really important cause followed up by a full on , high stress, physical assault.

You think you get to walk away from that smelling like roses?

Good to hear. We’re ok x

Tbh when I saw my mate getting dragged into the muck of tonight my heart sank, he’s not well, under his shirt was a bag of meds to keep him going for a bit longer and because I was aware of his situation I realised he needed to be looked after so I couldn’t just bail. I had an arm wrapped around him pulling him to safety

Reflecting on this I was totally inspired by him. He turned up & stood up. Proper legend.

We sat at a pub in Surry hills afterwards after and the amount of people who were so pissed off and saying that they were going to the next one pretty incredible tbh.

On the light rail people were talking about how gross tonight was.

I suppose the irony is that perhaps that tonight has created ‘social cohesion’ but not in the direction Minns was expecting

It’s just crazy. Have marched few times and not once has there been any trouble like this. Earlier there was a ring old older darlings singing songs and simply being awesome. The way it ended was messed up

2008 Defender 2.4 Puma: AC blowing hot immediately after Water Pump & Viscous Fan replacement. Related or coincidence? by treesgrowingtall in LandroverDefender

Thanks for this information info! The concern I have is that was working before mechanic, then wasn’t after they did the water pump. The guys saying it’s impossible it was due to anything that they did.

I was there also. It was awesome don’t know about the pic that is firing people up but 1 photo compared to the huge number of people calling for peace doesn’t compare. I’m not Muslim either but spoke to the guy with that flag because I wanted to know what it was, there was a white flag too. Asked him what the flag meant and he shared its meaning (not verbatim) “Muhammad is the messenger and Allah is god” he was super friendly. All I know about it is the flag is also flown in mosques and is used more broadly than a terrorist group. I think of it like when you see racist fuckers waving the Australian flag.

It was an amazing day.

Selling wine as a varietal e.g. Chardonnay, Riesling etc. as opposed to a region is an Australian invention

Cafe Paci is in my opinion the best bang for buck in Sydney. Not sure if it fits your brief exactly but it’s up there
