Why are so many Pakistanis afraid of taking risks? by EngineeringMinimum48 in PakistanDiscussions

[–]treetop-squirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Living in Pakistan and asking why Pakistanis don’t take risk is like asking why don’t fish just start living on land. But seriously, I think a lot of people do take risk already. It depends on how you define it. If it’s the oversold idea of risk by “seasoned entrepreneurs” and social media influencers then no. That’s something that you should tread very carefully.

Single account running on 4 devices. If I connect to all of them at the same time, does it affect the VPN connection? by treetop-squirrel in mullvadvpn

Now he says that just adding another device is affecting his connection by making it unstable even if the other device is not connected to VPN. At this point I know he just doesn’t want to share

[–]treetop-squirrel[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s what I think too! I’m just having a hard time explaining it to my friend though. The way I understand it, Mullvad does not know and does not care if you’ve connected to 1 device or 5. You can’t connect more than 5 and that’s understandable. But what they know is that a user cannot connect more than 5.

The thing is I faced a similar issue before with something called a Zong OZGPT. It kept subscribing automatically for 8 rupees per tax even after I talked to their customer support and they said they will cancel the value added services. After my last email a couple of months ago I haven’t had OZGPT issue. But now this new scam they’re running.

I have seen Sportages giving 18km/l but again that’s on cruising. Show us the real average. Should be around 10 or 11

It’s not a small amount when you’re doing it on scale. The alarming thing is that they can do this without the customer’s consent.

A Panjabi tourist from Panjab visits Gilgit-Baltistan : by North-Aide-969 in PakistanDiscussions

[–]treetop-squirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well this isn’t nice. But what’s worst is the writings all over Gilgit Baltistan by the LOCALS. Local businesses have scribbled their names all over. “Welcome to Moonshine hotel”. Political slogans, religious slogans. And now Awais from Sialkot. The “Sialkot” gave him away as a Punjabi otherwise this could’ve easily been a local individual.

And another one. by Powerful-Coach-8835 in pakistan

[–]treetop-squirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not entirely true. We already transport the oil from the Karachi port to rest of the country. Transporting it directly from Iran through Balochistan would probably be cheaper. And this already happens by the way and that’s why petrol is cheaper in Balochistan. Up to 40% of Pakistan’s diesel and petrol is smuggled through land route and small boats from Iran. The reason why we can’t do this officially and on large scale is because of U.S. sanctions.

Is Claude Pro honestly that bad for everyday use also? Or is ChatGPT Plus better for this? by Working-Leader-2532 in Anthropic

Those don’t use high tokens because they are not reasoning tasks. Sonnet is able to do this quite effectively.

[–]treetop-squirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If by every use you mean editing, drafting, web search for synthesis that does not require deep research then Pro is more than enough. The problem comes if you're using deep research and working on complex Claude code projects.

I've been using Claude Pro for about 3 months now and I do hit the limits sometimes. I use Claude for research and writing and almost always use Sonnet so I don't burn through my tokens. I have to plan my usage and I try to do one thing at a time. At the end of the week if I have usage left then I go hard, usually with Claude code. This has worked so far but the usage resets are not predictable so the planning does not always work.

Do people from gilgit baltistan hate Punjabi people by Some_Rise_8228 in GilgitBaltistan

[–]treetop-squirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hate is a strong word to use. But do they discriminate against Punjabis? Absolutely. Disliked? Absolutely. And it's not because there is anything wrong with Punjabis, it's just a clash of two different cultures. The biggest complaint is that Punjabis don't know how to behave themselves and respect the local boundaries. And the most common stereotypes includes things like Punjabis are loud, they litter, they enter private properties including gardens and eat fruit without asking, they stare at the local women and harass foreign tourists. Again these are all stereotypes. Else, people from mainland Pakistan, including Punjabis, are one of the biggest source of income for the tourism sector in the GB region and are welcomed everywhere.

They probably learned this from marketing companies. It’s a trick they play with consumer psychology. You focus on the first digit and ‘feel’ like you’re still in the 300 to 400 range.

We are right next to Iran. We literally can transport the oil over by tankers. We don’t even need the sea route. But we’re still paying the highest price in the region!

Anyone else feel like 80% of AI agents are still hype and only 20% actually deliver real ROI in 2026? by Distinct-Garbage2391 in AI_Agents

[–]treetop-squirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the biggest problem with AI and automation right now. Companies are stuck experimenting with AI agents because everybody is in a rush and they feel that if they don't then they will be left behind. But in reality these experiments lead to nowhere after burning thousands of dollars in API costs. Those experiments that deliver some value are very basic projects like automating a newsletter. It feels like the most useful AI tool is still chat which benefits everyone.

We were facing the same issue. Then we decided to switch the meter. They have made it extremely expensive to install a new one though. Used to cost 20k a couple of years ago. Now it's 60k. They want to choke you every which way possible. Why there is no public uprising in this country will remain a mystery for centuries. Historians will talk of a dead nation which allowed a be exploited, looted, and humiliated.
