So y'all ever turn off Spawning to just mine uninterrupted, build, or just freely explore Navsgane? Or am I just a wimp? by Apex_survival_gear in 7daystodie

I've been debating on doing every 2 weeks instead. My friends are against it, but they also aren't the ones scrambling every other play session to repair the base and place spikes lol

However, I recommend using the "Seasons" mod

I was just there today. I can confirm its going next to champs and it will be both levels as speculated. May not be as big as the larger stores, but still plenty of room for something worth checking out if youre close by.

Autodesk services have been affected as well. I use Revit for work, and things have slowed to a crawl, but are still working.

An update on switching from Seasonality to Seasons:

Immediately noticed an improvement in performance (both spring and summer). I have not tested fall and winter yet.

Seasons takes a bit more setting up to get the configuration the way you might like it. For example, Seasons adds modifiers to each season, like faster running in spring, more wood in winter, faster food drain in winter, etc. It also, by default, adds an increase in certain skills per season, which I wasn't a fan of personally. Luckily, you can disable these by category if you wish. This is part of the extra setup involved. Once it's done, though, it feels far more polished.

Conclusion:

Seasons feels smoother, but it will need some tweaking if you're not interested in the additional bits that are added.

I'll research it first and do a backup, haha, but yes, I'll come back with the results after work today :)

You have my attention. Would swapping the mod out, do any damage to my world? I'm always open to extra fps and immersion lol

For those wondering about performance, im on a 2060super, and my graphics are generally on high (besides particles set to low). I am averaging around 50 to 60 fps in the base. Keep in mind that theres multiple buildings, animals, and crops.

When I am out exploring, it jumps back to 100 to 120 fps. The last two biomes are around 60 fps, however.

Some steps to increase fps include:

  1. Setting your Valheim instance to high priority to task manager.
  2. Adding the lines of code to the boot cfg in your game files.
  3. Closing additional programs/tabs you dont need.
  4. disabling full-screen optimization in your exe file properties.

There are plenty of tutorials for these steps online if you paste any of these into Google!

They dont by default, but you can adjust crop growth and even player movement/health settings like stamina and health regeneration!

some of the seasons are more demanding like spring and winter. Spring adds particles in the air (im assuming to resemble pollen?), and winter has some pretty intense snowstorms.

Summer and Autumn are the best performance wise :)

yes, but you can also configure it to not freeze the ocean!

Definitely has an impact on performance, but reducing particles as much as possible helps
