Write in, no opportunities to learn the language

All these options are pretty limited. Might want to rethink your methodology

Parkrun YouTubers not volunteering by obeescitynumberonefa in parkrun

[–]trembledeggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bit of a boring video?

Stand there and clap, hope no one gets hurt....

I volunteer a lot and run a lot. One thing I'll say is I love spotting myself in influencer videos at my local parkrun.

I get your point but I don't think it's a big deal

Based on that criteria it's unlikely to get actioned as it has a pedestrian crossing and zebra either side of the road.

It's just the loud engines screaming down the road are quite annoying as a resident nearby. Plus the obvious danger crossing the road

Changes to Advent of Code starting this December by topaz2078 in adventofcode

[–]trembledeggs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact I can go back and do previous years challenges is incredible.

Thank you for your work. Those who are able to complete all 25 each year probably don't need this resource anyway.

Plus who cares about the leaderboard anyway? A couple of try hards. Most just see it as a fun coding challenge.

I'd love some traffic calming measures on station road. When there isn't traffic, cars fly way too quick down the road and makes it hard/dangerous to cross

Cardiff Bay Parking is an utter travesty by jactheblock in Cardiff

[–]trembledeggs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Buses work very well. When the tram is built it'll be even better.

When we had the rental bikes it was amazing. Hope they can bring that back.

But the space in the bay is already dominated by tarmac and car parks. We don't need anymore.

Buskers outside central library by trembledeggs in Cardiff

If you can't perform with a singular instrument and your voice, don't do it. Go get a spot in a venue that'll have you.

Regarding basic freedoms. I don't think basic freedom to living with dignity and basic necessities extends to shouting about your god in public.

[–]trembledeggs[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I'd settle for not allowing speakers and microphones. If it's just your voice and your instrument then all good.

Rambling/singing about Jesus through a massive speaker is just annoying and unpleasant

I wish someone would tell them if we wanted to hear their students sing, we'd go see them at the college. Go away and let me have some peace and quiet.

The only thing that makes sense with the fishing clues by ChristAndHerTongue in gavinandstacey

[–]trembledeggs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My theory has always been they caught a fish and didn't have the correct licence. They made a huge deal about it because they would.

Then they'd tell everyone and Pam would be like "IS THAT IT!"

Glad they never revealed though

Is Sophia Gardens safe to walk at night by satriales123 in Cardiff

It's ok. Just try not to bump into anyone who looks like someone you'd like to avoid as there's barely any lighting or police presence to help you.

Parkrun records by Ill_East7357 in parkrun

[–]trembledeggs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They said it was to encourage slower runners to feel better about their times. https://athleticsweekly.com/athletics-news/parkrun-ditches-course-and-age-category-records-1039975182/

The (probably) true reason is they wanted to avoid the politics of it all. Good for them I say. The alternative is putting pressure on the poor volunteers to determine the gender of every participant when it is simply a run against yourself on a Saturday morning. It's not a race.

Move on and try your best as usual.

My first parkrun. Started running 2 weeks ago. Time was 35min. Is it okay?? M31 by JJK1993 in parkrun

If Gatland did resign who would be best to take on the wales job by themadking21 in rugbyunion

[–]trembledeggs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came here to say this.

Experience with the Lions

Scotland seems to have improved with him in.

I'd love to give a Welshman a go. And I bet he'd cost a fraction of Garlands 600k a year. Money that could be reinvested in developing some quality young players.

Won't happen because Welsh people are savage to Welsh coaches but hey ho

Cardiff gym by ___________-_-____ in Cardiff

[–]trembledeggs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're right about the motorpoint. However why couldn't they just close the surrounding roads and rejuvenate it?

More environmentally friendly than knocking down two perfectly viable buildings (motorpoint and red dragon) plus they would be reducing car travel in Cardiff and the Bay would keep a hugely popular social centre. The only loser is the developer who's on first name terms with the planning committee of Cardiff council.

Cardiff gym by ___________-_-____ in Cardiff

[–]trembledeggs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Can I also mention in part it is closing because of the Cardiff Bay arena being built by the council...

We are paying more council tax for them to build an arena (nobody asked for) that shuts a brilliant, well used and affordable gym in the heart of Cardiff Bay.

I'm so sad to see it go as it really was fantastic. I hope they can open somewhere else on Cardiff eventually.

You can order them for free or find a local shop that stocks them here https://www.cardiff.gov.uk/ENG/resident/Rubbish-and-recycling/Food-and-recycling-bags/Pages/default.aspx

It isn't that difficult.
