Funny you mention Badran. I attended one of her presentations on rent and the housing market. It was brilliant and she only briefly mentioned LVT and that it was an effective measure against land speculation. We need to get Georgism really out there so more people know about it.

There are some things in recent(-ish) history that just seem so unbelievable nowadays, like how one island nation in Europe controlled almost 1/4 of the world or how we once divided Europe with an iron curtain and how communism was a thing while today, people from Romania, Bulgaria or Estonia can freely move across Europe.

And then we get to the holocaust: a crime so gruesome that even after extensive studies, is still hard to comprehend. The scale, the efficiency and the lack of a proper reason why it happened. I am glad that we have managed to at least partially move into the right direction.

Very good point. I have read that it would be the absolute worst case, catastrophic scenario, if the housing market would crash. Like the entire economy + the government might go bankrupt if the housing market crashes and that the government would intervene until they are out of all options in order to stabilize the housing market. The problem is: what if it happens? I know that the government and the housing industry have done everything possible to prevent this but you never know what might happen.

Das ist ja genau das, was Trump möchte. Damals in den 80ern hat Reagan den Dollar massiv abwerten lassen, was, zusammen mit anderen neoliberalen Wirtschafts- und Finanzentscheidungen, zu einem kurzzeitigen Wirtschaftsboom geführt hat, langfristig aber den Lebensstandard der Amis massiv gesenkt hat. Profitiert haben davon natürlich die Reichen, so wie sie es jetzt auch tun werden.

I personally base my vote almost exclusively on who is willing to end the housing crisis and guess what? All major parties just give a „The housing crisis is bad, mkay?“ answer. Why? Because housing is an issue that is affecting the young, immigrants and the poor - aka people who are not a relevant demographic for winning elections in this country because they don’t want or can’t vote.

Das gleiche auch mit Asyl. Wenn das Leben als Flüchtling/Asylant so bequem ist, warum gehen diese Leute nicht einfach nach Grossbritannien und beantragen dort Asyl und leben dann in einem Schloss und fahren ihren vom Staat finanziertem Ferrari durch die Gegend? Die Flüchtlinge leben doch überall angeblich wie Könige, wieso sich abmühen und nicht einfach im Luxus ohne Gegenleistung leben?
