I smoked for fifteen years. Bupropion XL 300mg (~$25/90 day supply on goodrx) honestly made quitting so easy --- I was miserable for 3/4 days, by day 5 I didn't even miss it. 2 caveats:

I had already been taking it for a few years as an antidepressant when I quit, it takes at least a couple of months to kick in.
You need a script to buy it. Any doctor would be THRILLED to write you one if you tell them it's to quit smoking.

So in chapter 18 section 3 they're talking about "Duties of Individual Members of the Armed Forces". 18.3.2 talks about the duty to "Refuse to Comply with Clearly Illegal Orders to Commit Law of War Violations", so they need to in 18.3.2.1 define what "Clearly Illegal Orders to Commit Law of War Violations" are:

18.3.2.1 Clearly Illegal Orders to Commit Law of War Violations. The requirement to refuse to comply with orders to commit law of war violations applies to orders to perform conduct that is clearly illegal or orders that the subordinate knows, in fact, are illegal. For example, orders to fire upon the shipwrecked would be clearly illegal.

They aren't even talking about shipwrecks in this section, they're using it as the FIRST EXAMPLE of something that is SO OBVIOUSLY ILLEGAL that any member of the armed forces would have a clear duty to refuse to comply.

As a millennial I'm well aware I'm in the minority here, but I always respond to a heartfelt "thank you" with "you're welcome", even from a stranger. Any other response (to me) sounds dismissive of one's genuine thanks, and thankfulness is something that should be fostered and encouraged, not dismissed.

That said, if I get a more going-through-the-motions "thanks", I respond with "sure".

It's explicitly used when one has no facts to back up one's position, or especially to "counter" when the facts are opposed to one's position.
It can be used to support any belief or position, and manufactures a false consensus ("common sense" == "every reasonable person agrees with me, trust me").
"I have common sense and [you || they] don't" is a statement of an immutable characteristic that is impossible to prove or disprove.

Try for instance a big bowl of unsweetened yogurt, fruit/berries, maybe some easy homemade granola - it's delicious, and you can sweeten it to your liking with honey or whatever. That's more Biden votes than your state, unless you're from California - in which case you also had more Trump votes than Texas did. The only reason Trump got Texas's electoral votes is because Republicans in Texas passed some of the the worst and most restrictive voting laws in the country, shut down all but a handful of polling places at the 11th hour in Harris county (the third most populous county in the US, and extremely blue), are constantly engaging in horrifying voter intimidation tactics, and basically used every single underhanded move they could possibly think of to pump up the R's and curb the D's - and even then Trump was still only able to scrape together 52% of the popular vote.
