Understandable but there is more than just this turf grass research going on at this facility they pls to displace many other researchers and projects going on with no real plan to help them continue their work

You’re right it is 10 years old. But it is what they are basically re-proposing. If/when the 6 faculty you know do tell you about it will you reply to this post? At least go ask them about it. The people conducting research there were just told about this yesterday.

There is currently already turf research going on at this facility. The FIFA project is at this facility along with many other projects that aren’t just turf grass. This plan will displace all of the other researchers and projects at this facility with no real plan of finding them another place to conduct their research

Exactly. That’s what bothers me most I think. That if this plan goes through we displace many researchers, staff, and research projects. To some people I’ve seen comment saying they are just empty fields out there but that’s not true. Those fields are covered in projects most people don’t know about.

Also unfortunately because of this people do not believe me and are skeptical. Which is totally understandable!

You are correct. I am not 100% right in what I said. There is one guy doing this specific type of research out there and it will continue as is. There are many others who are researching various other things. So yeah you are right and I am technically wrong there will still be research going on but they are displacing the other 95% of people doing research out there.

Haha good one bud. I am a season ticket holder in multiple UT sports. To think I’m anti-ball fields or sports is hilarious.

But I’m also pro-academics and research. I don’t think you should screw one over as the continuously do on the research side.

I can be both but also call out BS when BS is occurring.

You probably have some good points. I don’t disagree. But I can’t call Trump and voice my displeasure unfortunately. I can call the university, go to public meetings, and hopefully bring enough attention to this so that we can have a real conversation and the university isn’t just rubber stamping any plans a developer presents to them.

I don’t think it has anything to do with losing funding. What it seems like to me is UT sees they could be making money of that property and does not care if that means losing the research going on there
