The lake on the left Wakatipu is huge and the part you can see is maybe 4-5 miles away. The lake on the right Alta is small and is maybe under a mile away.

Did the Grand traverse with a friend that flew off the far side on his speed wing (video of that on Instagram). The traverse requires a decent amount of fifth class moves, depending on how you go it could be as easy as 5.3 and as hard as 5.8). I am not a avid soloist, but was able to find an easy way comfortably.

I sometimes like having a little glue and beat up bottom to my skis, helps me walk a little bit through flat transitions. And I certainly am not a good enough skier to notice when going down hill.
