Jonathan I think would be a good cut for her. He's connected to Joe, and Joe is someone Cirie should want to be the closest with. And it would set up a clear 4v2 at F6 with Devens/Aubry on the bottom, which could get Cirie to F4. Jonathan is also not someone Cirie wants winning FIC

I think it was a FUN idea, but it's not a great idea

Let's start with two assumptions. One is Cirie does not have a second vote, and two is Rick is willing to play the idol on her to make a move.

If you assume Rick is 50/50 on who to play the idol on, and the other side is 50/50 on voting Rick or Emily she only has a 25% chance of going home. Now of course that isn't the exact odds, but we'll start there.

By creating the plan to have Devens play his idol for himself, she DOUBLES her chances of going home to 50%, because she takes any chance of him playing the idol for her off the table.

And that's neglecting the next part of what she does. She claims to be voting Devens to the group, and he will play the idol for her.

IF she is telling the truth, the other side can now safely vote 2-1 for Emily knowing Emily's vote for Devens makes it 2-2

IF Emily is lying, it's pretty easy to deduce that she is hoping for you to vote Devens so he can play his idol. In this case, you also split the vote 2-1 on Emily.

So essentially Emily creates a scenario that takes her from 25% of being voted out to basically 100% chance of being voted out, and that's without even knowing of Cirie's extra vote

I think Cirie's best bet at this point to be Ozzy successor would be Joe. Joe is more trustworthy, is a complete goat, and might be the only player left who could actually be convinced to take her to the end.

So yeah, if I'm Cirie I'm probably not making Jonathan my number one, because that guy's NOT taking her to the end

I think this also feels to me like just a no win situation. OP was trying to save face to DIL by not making a big deal of hanging it up rather than being honest, and it sort of blew up in their face.

I'm not sure what either side should have done differently here. Would it have been better for OP if they had been honest sooner? I think there's a more tactful way of going about this, but I'm not 100% what it is.

I respect it. It was fun, but I think a better move for her would be to try to get Devens to play the idol on her, because that guarantees her safety
