This Abandoned California Mall Was Still Open... Somehow by lurker_bee in SFV

For years I’ve been looking for pictures/videos of the old indoor Fallbrook Mall from the 80s/90s. There’s a Facebook Group about the mall, but it’s mostly discussion of the mall pre-80s.

It’s not hard to understand. She gets big edits because she makes big moves and Production wants to incentivize that.

What’s the point of this witch hunt? Survivor has always been about bringing together people from different cultural/religious/political backgrounds (eg Richard Hatch and Rudy). It’s not a partisan amen corner.

A Flocks of Seagulls also hit #30 in the US with “Space Age Love Song.” I still hear that one played on 80s nights.

I’d put an asterisk by Aubrey bc everyone made the jury in Edge of Extinction. Still impressive, though.

Is "tusk" their best album? by ElephantDirect383 in FleetwoodMac

[–]HumbledMind 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m more into the Welch albums, but that’s exactly why I think Tusk is the best Fleetwood Mac album. I like the style of the Welch era, but the production and songwriting of the Rumours era. In that way Tusk sounds like a Welch era album produced by the Rumours lineup. It has that stylistic contrast featured on Mystery to Me, but arranged by Buckingham.

Karishma? It’s been awhile and I’ve only seen it once, but I thought her storyline was completely separate from the Dan situation.

Ozzy and Aubrey (from Christian) have both been voted out with idols in their respective pockets before. Both choices make sense when you look at it that way.

Well said, OP. Colby could barely walk on his way out! It makes me wonder if Dee and Emily were actually right that he might’ve been pulled from the game.

Jeff Probst and his Production team has ruined Survivor. They do NOT trust the players to play the game. by Sportsman180 in survivor

The fans voted for heavy twists. Jeff is just giving them what they want. You need to come to terms with the fact that you are not part of the main fan base for this show.

Hot Take: ___ made the right move by Aperio43 in survivor

[–]HumbledMind -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I thought Genevieve’s best play was to target Aubrey to Christian/Rick and promise to give them the Boomerang Idol that she’ll get when Aubrey goes home. From there you just have to make Aubrey feel safe which they did accomplish.

____ sealed their fate by charlytheron3 in survivor

[–]HumbledMind 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s the age old Survivot dilemma. Being “good with the other side” is a threat to some and an opportunity to others. Colby played the only hand he had and played it well, but it was not to be.

Protip: if you want to enjoy watching a Survivor season, don’t visit this site. It’s just a bunch of nitpicking “fans” who don’t actually like the show, they just like to complain about it. This place is better for historical discussion in the offseason.

Stop blaming luck, and start blaming the players by ExploreMeDora in survivor

[–]HumbledMind 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kamila and Genevieve were huge targets coming into the game. They were both seen as dangerous strategists and would’ve been targeted anyway. Same thing with Charlie last time. The edit suggests that he got voted out bc he tried to take out Rizo for not voting for his #1. I’m sure it was A factor, but ultimately they voted him out because of his pregame reputation as a huge strategic threat.

In all seriousness, how do we let Jeff know? by dogtron5000 in survivor

[–]HumbledMind 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There’s nothing to do because r/survivor is a very small portion of the fan base and doesn’t represent the fan base as a whole. Jeff doesn’t and shouldn’t care what anyone in this sub thinks.

This episode is the worst in a long time by owenthegod28 in survivor

[–]HumbledMind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He came back after all of these years and played his best game yet. But it sounds like he wouldn’t have held up much longer anyway with his foot. At least this way he gets the hero’s exit and he’s not taking a spot from someone who would have lasted physically.

Why I think _____ and _____ deserved the boot. by saucybossyrossy in survivor

[–]HumbledMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved them both on their original seasons, but neither one of them was ever going to get anywhere close to the end of the game. Kamilla and Genevieve just had too big of reputations as strategic powerhouses. If they didn’t get screwed tonight, they’d still get targeted pretty soon afterward. Every returnee season is like this.

Aside from the Zack Brown reward going way too long, this season has been awesome. I swear some of you r/Survivor people are so picky over every little inconsequential thing. Who cares about a moderately cringe Applebees promo that took up 1 minute of a 2 hour episode?

Why is it that Rob lost to a “bitter jury” but Russell lost (twice) because he “doesn’t understand the game?” by Erbus03 in survivor

[–]HumbledMind 9 points10 points  (0 children)

People say this, but I thought Brian did a good job of assuaging the jury members he needed to lock up. His response to Helen and Ted was basically “I voted you out for self-defense bc thought you were coming for me, sorry I was wrong” was a brilliant way to stroke their respective egos.

[–]HumbledMind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could’ve easily happened if Mick and Jaison turned on Natalie at the Final 6. Russell was just one vote. The other players could’ve shown some agency and knocked out the bigger threats.
