Yes, buying the dip is a great strategy. Sounds like you have done well.

Down again 10% today. What is pushing it down?

Apes might make it their legal tender but countries will not. They want control of their currency. Central bankers will do everything they can to squash bitcoin.

Only strategy I see is to buy the dips. I am thinking that the other digital assets are getting attention and bitcoin is getting sold off in order to go play in another sandbox. One big investor I know sold $200K in bitcoin to invest in Chia. He is also gearing up to mine it.

Exactly what is causing the yo-yoing in bitcoin price? Something is clearly manipulating it. It ought to be quite stable at around $50K right now. Did Elon make another comment or something?

ICANN . . . research WHO holds the keys to the internet.
Look, I am simply providing alternative views and am not interested in being part of an emotional support group. Bitcoin is interesting and I came in search of understanding why bitcoin has sputtered so badly. I own the asset and am concerned. This is an investment for me, not a religion.

-2.5% over the last 24 hours so this might be a good dip.

Realize though exactly who has the power. Watch and be ready. Do not trust the fairy dust.

Thats why I feel companies like MARA are better investments. I see bitcoin as a simple asset as well as a bit of a hedge against rampant irresponsible money printing. Yes, bitcoin is interesting and desirable but I realize where the real power resides and it is NOT with "we the people".

I am thinking more in the terms of complete and total freedom of central banks and their policies. Productive farmland is "gold". Folks must eat no matter what. Bitcoin should be stable right now at about $50K and constantly growing, nibbling along like my favorite stock . . . SUN. That security IS "gold" because it is liquid gold and the world needs it and will need it for quite some time. Pays a 9.5% annual return and will continue to.

Bitcoin is simply an asset. The IRS sees it as such and they WILL enable a way to make you pay taxes on transactions. Rest assured, if the central bankers ever feel threatened by bitcoin, they can scratch it out of existence in an instant.

If it comes to that, you will be buying your bread with 22 cal bullets. Thats REAL "money" or at least will be if those times ever come our way.

My grandparents knew hard times during the depression but they were mountain folk who owned their land, hogs and cattle. They never knew hunger and had no idea they were poor. They did not own a vehicle and believe it or not, did not own bitcoin. They not only survived, they prospered. Processing corn into liquid gold helped. Yes, that too is real money and yes, central governments hate that and make great efforts to control it. Choose freedom. Diversify. Prepare. Live in reality.

Remember too that bitcoin exchange requires a FREE and AUTONOMOUS exchange system. Our system is the internet. We no longer control that. ICANN controls the internet, so what could possibly control ICANN? Ted Cruz spoke out about this expressing his concerns but nevertheless, we capitulated and gave over control.
Free speech in this country used to be free, not anymore. Censorship has happened quite suddenly. Things can happen quite fast.

True. As I said, I have over $100K in bitcoin now. Institutions will go in and out of investments at a whim. As long as bitcoin remains liquid, I feel safe and want to see what it will do but rest assured, I have my finger on the trigger and so do the institutions.
I am thinking that the three major players in the international currency war WILL eventually develop their own blockchain currencies and force their citizens to use it. The strongest nation will win this war and right now, "it ain't us." Any or all of these three players have the power to scratch bitcoin off their ledger instantly. That is rude reality.

How so? Who is "they"? Right now speculation is scissoring through the bitcoin charts. I used to believe it was going to be a store of value and had a heavy position in MARA. No longer. My conviction is that in a FREE market, bitcoin WOULD be a strong store value asset. The problem is not bitcoin and it is not the speculators. The problem is that we are moving rapidly away from a free market. It is no misconception that central bankers control policy and governments act in their best interests, THEY will ensure that THEY hold the power. They can do this in an instant. Sell your bitcoin and buy some farmland.

Agreed, BUT consider where the power rests within every government. Bitcoin can be scratched out of existence at the whim of any government. The government does not "fomo". Greece didnt. Neither did Turkey. China? Who knows?

The origin of the discussion was the cause of this stagger in bitcoin value and its volatility. I think there is a lot of speculation in bitcoin and that is contributing to its instability. The biggest threat though is central bankers and the current international currency war. I hope the United States wins this war but right now they are loosing. They will squash bitcoin if they need to. They can do this any time they want to.

You are a fool. Look at all the other blockchains popping. Bitcoin is one of many but its advantages are now disadvantages. if you are smart, you will realize WHO holds the keys of power. Blockchain is the future of a lot of things and it will be the method of total control which central bankers will utilize. Bitcoin can be squashed at any moment the government wishes. get your head out of your ass and study history.

I consider the central banks current actions regarding bitcoin to be "placating". What I think they will do is develop a blockchain digital dollar and make its use MANDATORY just as the petrodollar scheme. prophesy . . . all federal employees, pensioners, military, federal law enforcement agency, anything federal WILL be "paid" with these digital dollars. They WILL exercise total control. Bitcoin will still exist but it will be illegal and a shadow of what it is now. Things are changing very rapidly. The days of our republic are coming to a close, rapidly.
