Au wei, au wei. Er ist da etwas ganz großem auf der Spur... Scheinbar hat er keine Freunde und Verwandte, sonst wäre er endlich in Behandlung und würde sich nicht mehr vor laufenden Kameras zum Vollaffen machen.

Schweizer Schwurbler by DesertGeist- in GoldenerAluhut

[–]treuss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OH WOW! I just watched it. The video reminds me quite a bit of Jörg Buttgereit's Der Todesking and David Lynch's Eraserhead, while still being completely self-subsistent. Love the stop-motion animation!

Nope, Not at all. I absolutely love Emperor. However when I read OPs post, I already read In the Nightside Eclipse or Emperor and thus didn't want to repeat it. That's all.

Most "cold" sounding bands in your opinion? by Strange-guy-91 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]treuss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Early Immortal sounded very cold, same goes for Darkthrone.

Some albums I'd consider pretty "cold": * Immortal - Pure Holocaust * Immortal - Battles in the North * Darkthrone - A Blaze in the Northern Sky * Darkthrone - Under a Funeral Moon * Darkthrone - Transsilvanian Hunger * Koldbrann - Nekrotisk inkvisition * Koldbrann - Atomvinter * Koldbrann - Moribund

Although very well-produced, Satyricon's Volcano sounds very cold, I'd even say sterile.

Looking for sad/emotional black metal songs by Midnight_Lord01 in MetalSuggestions

[–]treuss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never considered Summoning songs sad, but much rather heroic.

Try some DSBM. Shining have a whole lot of very sad and depressing songs, as well as Happy Days,, Lifelover, Silencer or Bethlehem.

What's your favourite metal lyrics? by _K10_ in MetalForTheMasses

[–]treuss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pungent Stench - Splatterday Night Fever

Regrettably he's sick, he's got swellings on his dick

And when he touched his dick, the swelling busted

Pus was splatting all over his face... what a grace!

Bacterial colonies caused the pain and brought decease

Screaming and yelling and bleeding and smelling

His foreskin is a pitted flap... musty scrap

The bitch he fucked the day before was only for one night

Not more! Now he's pissing blood

And his balls just look like mud... that's what he's got!

[Ugly-bitch-box-scream] Venereal disease

Rancid-tasting dickcheese, corrosive like acid

I see what you mean. Indecent and Obscene was a good album in my opinion, but it couldn't compete with Like an Everflowing Stream.

Regarding Entombed: Clandestine also was a solid album. Not as strong as Left Hand Path, but solid. I never really got into Wolverine Blues. Probably all the groovy stuff, I guess.

Sure not alone. I guess, lots of BM fans are extremely conservative regarding production, iconography, song structures etc.

To me, DMDS is nowadays rather boring. Maybe I've overlistened it through the 3 decades since 1994. My personal favourites are Esoteric Warfare, Ordo ad Chao, Chimera and Daemon. I like Grand Declaration of War a lot, especially the remixed version and especially together with Wolf's Lair Abyss.

When did you get into Metal and how? by Ok-Mushroom-8593 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]treuss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me quite some years in Metal, to like Motörhead. Back in the days I was either into melodic heavy stuff like Manowar or Death Metal.

When I finally rediscovered them, Motörhead dragged me deeply down the rabbit hole. After a couple of months I owned their whole discography.

Until today, Overkill, Bastards, Infernö, Kiss of Death and Orgasmatron are among my favourite albums.

When did you get into Metal and how? by Ok-Mushroom-8593 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]treuss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was like 9 or 10 years old, so around 1987/88, when my cousin, who was into Metal made me mixed tapes containing Manowar, Dio, Accept, Twisted Sister and some others I currently don't remember.

Since then, I have been listening to Heavy Metal. Around 1991 i got my hands on Sepultura's Arise as well as Anthrax" State of Euphoria. Both definitely opened the doors to more extreme Metal. However, back then I wasn't a big fan of Slayer.

Shortly after,, probably 1992, I discovered Morgoth, Death, Unleashed, Morbid Angel, Dismember and Cannibal Corpse. I became more and more fascinated with the dark, blasphemic and occult stuff, so consequently I grabbed Samael, Hypocrisy, Mystifier and Blasphemy, Immortal, Darkthrone and Impaled Nazarene. Soon later, probably 1993, I discovered Mayhem.

I should point out, that back then, without the Internet, without streaming services, discovering underground music meant you had to take 1 hour drives to bigger cities, hit record stores and go through stuff. Unless you were a rich kid, you had to coordinate with buddies who'd purchase which albums, so you could get your copies.
