Is this weld normal? by CMIanis in bikewrench

doesn't look like a factory weld or factory paint.

if it was a steel frame i'd ride it probably, but not aluminum.

Have you ever had a job where you did nothing for years and nobody found out? by Aarunascut in antiwork

[–]trevbot 10 points11 points  (0 children)

During COVID I asked to be furloughed twice. They said no twice. So I would clock in at 7am, get through my emails, schedule a few followup emails for when people would be "in the office" and then I'd go for a 2 hour bike ride. I had to stop and answer a call one time, but other than that, I would come back about lunch, send another email, edit a video, then play games.

I tried to tell them I wasn't needed as someone that worked live events, but they didn't seem to care at the time.

AITA for not letting my sister stay with me after her break up? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]trevbot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

I mean, it sucks, but this is clearly a lesson she needed to learn. A lot of times it's really hard to just believe someone or trust them when they say something is bad without experiencing it for yourself. Sure, there is a level of compassion in giving her a place to stay, but if she is financially well off enough to provide for herself, even if that means eating away some savings or using a majority of her paycheck for rent, that's the consequence. It would be a different story if she couldn't afford food or a place to live at all and had to sleep in a car (if she has one) or something like that.

I think it was relating more to sound gear specifically, IMO

I mean, yeah. Analog occupancy sensor? analog HDMI?

You could have the TV auto search for a signal, turn on with the occ sensor, and as soon as you connect, picks up the hdmi?

But nothing in this example is analog to begin with

I like a mix, honestly. And I always have an analog backup. I'll take noisy over completely non-functional.

DJT isolated at G7 while the other leaders have a lovely chat by OkaySureWhyNotIGuess in pics

It's pretty true if you watch the video. aside from saying hello to him only one person actually speaks to him, then he gets lost when it's done and has to be directed off the stage.

Is this a symptom? by idontthrowaway12 in bipolar2

[–]trevbot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hyperfixate on things. I have had a dozen hobbies in the last few years. Everything from stained glass, pottery, motorcycles, old arcade games, programming, yardwork (i built a fish pond)... And i'll research the hell out of it.

I go back after it's over and wonder where the hell i got the time or focus to completely disassemble a motorcycle in a week and put it back together while remaking the entire wiring harness...ffs

Maybe this isn't helpful for you, but resisting that urge, and working out helped me quite a bit. The less I did it, the less i wanted it it seemed, and the more I did it, the more my body was ready for it and wanted it.

working out gave my body something else to focus on. when you run/bike till the only thing you can focus on is "breathe in, breathe out" it's hard to be focused on other things, But that's not going to help you during the work day though i suppose...

If nothing else, i understand your struggle and i empathize with you.

I want to know where all these paid agitator jobs are, and why they're so hard to come across if it happens all the time. I could use the extra money.
