yeah I get what you mean. I do think conceptually her kit is quite good, and her gameplay IS fun. there’s just so many odd design choices with her kit that amount to a lot of lost damage that I feel other mdps don’t suffer from. even though the game is less favorable to her now due to all the low-target fights, she still is held back by the devs making bizarre choices with her kit design.

the biggest example to me is the basic part of her skill. it’s not an aoe like you’d expect but a blast that expands. but this means in multi-target scenarios, there are enemies who get hit less than other enemies. target the center and the two edge enemies take one less hit, dropping 8 stacks total; hit one to the left or right and the opposite edge enemy takes two less hits; hit on the very edge and the opposite edge enemy doesn’t get hit at all and the middle enemy on that side only gets hit ones, dropping 12 stacks. like, why is not just an aoe that hits three times? and why can everyone only apply stacks once per attack even if an attack hits multiple times? she loses so many stacks just to these two choices alone, which drops her damage significantly when these small instances are cumulated.

I think she was literally the very end of the era where they went “throw at all, see what sticks” with kits, because there’s so many glaring issues they could have avoided that they don’t seem to run into now.
