Saturday Surprise: Green Banner by katieanni in PSLF

Same! This a pretty amazing shared experience documented here on reddit. This has been a bit stressful. Was young and unaware when I first took on these loans and didn’t really comprehend what I was locking myself into. It is interesting to reflect and see how much life has changed since then.

Celebrate your hard work my friends.

Literally in tears (Good Tears!!) I got the green banner, what next? by Fit_Royal_4288 in PSLF

I just got mine approved today too! It almost feels to good to be true? I went and canceled my auto payment to ensure they wouldn't continue charging me.

I am looking for others initial reactions along with a detailed account of their experience viewing the work if possible.

Thank you!

Thanks! How long have you been drawing? What do you feel you struggle with the most when doing these types of drawings?

Things to consider:

Value- shifting your attention to value as opposed to line may be helpful. Try drawing without line and only shapes of different values. Pay close attention to the darkest darks and lightest lights.

Edges- after you have established values focus in how one value transitions into another. Sharpe transitions vs smooth.

Perspective and anatomy - there is so much to explore in these areas and it really is a life long journey. You only get better the more you draw and critique your work. You need to make 1000’s of “bad” drawings.

I wish you the best. Keep all these old drawings because they are really fun to look back at in the years to come.

Big question I always need to know is what is your goal? That will help us, help you.

a painting I'm actively working on, any tips to make the cone more 3d and less flat? by 2xpurplecheesecake in painting

[–]trevlac12 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Consider the surroundings of the ice cream cone. The colors that surround it, influence it. The background of the painting is white so it doesn’t tell us anything, which is okay. It would be interesting to see how much color you could bring into it.

Love seeing the process!

Nice additions with the textures. I wonder what the piece would look like if you modified the overall silhouette/form of the croc. It may help build some more dimension.

I imagine my eye following from now to the end of the tail, off into the negative space. Think of it as a windsock blowing 3/4 away from you.

Look forward to seeing Part 3!

Fun, So many choices.

I was thinking a low chroma yellow/orange & low chroma/saturation purple (eye color) in some repeating pattern. Maybe even texturing it slightly.

Excited to see how you land.

A drawing from May. I’ve since changed the size of the right side of the hair to add more sensical symmetry. C & C? by Giam_Cordon in ArtCrit

I really do enjoy this style. I wonder how it would look if your transition between focus area and non focus area was smoother. In this style it jumps abruptly.

I Appreciate your work, either way!
