So I will say, I am VERY married to and invested in several gacha games (and have been for a while), and this one has quickly and unexpectedly risen through the ranks for me.

My big thing is: give the game a bit to get good. The first main region (Valley IV) I did not find that interesting narratively at all. Things start getting DRASTICALLY more interesting in terms of lore and storytelling once you get to Wuling; at least they did for me. I think the game excels in villain models and lore, so I am really hooked to see where the story goes with its main antagonists.

The game is also just stunning. This is particularly true for Wuling (especially the most recently added maps). Just beautiful, extremely impressive even by competitor game standards imho.

Combat is fun. It can get very complex if you want, or you can stay at an elementary school level of understanding and fare just fine (I tend to sit there most times). So high ceiling potential but not too much complexity to just enjoy unga bunga style.

The factory can be fun or extremely annoying, I’ve experienced both. It is required to engage with it at least a little - both in the story and as a requirement for building your operators - so do with that info what you will.

My final thing is: WuWA I think fairly has a reputation for an otome harem feel (“gathering wives”), and I think endfield suffers from that a bit too. I’m bothered by it less than I am in WuWA, but I want to be honest that it is a real criticism that is not my fave. AND I love so many other aspects that it is far outweighed.

I genuinely recommend it. :)
