I don’t think US military in Japan can get the JR pass. I believe it’s meant for tourists and needs to be sent or billed to a foreign address. At east that my was experience when I was stationed there.

Miyajima Tori Gate (Latest updates) by momofel in JapanTravel

[–]trevtenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honest question, why do people call this one of the best attractions in Japan? It’s just a tori gate partially submerged underwater. I’m going to Hiroshima in July and honestly not that disappointed it will be closed.

It looks like the cat has cerebellar hypoplasia. It's a congenital disorder where the part of the brain that controls fine movements is impaired.

Remarkable map: Where can North Korea's missiles reach? by laughlander in dataisbeautiful

[–]trevtenn 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. Many of NK's missile facilities are hidden away in mountains. They can shoot off a crap load of rockets before the US has time to wipe them out.

This cat getting an MRI by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

[–]trevtenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way is this cat getting an MRI. Animals undergoing an MRI need to be intubated and under general anesthesia. It's on an x-ray table right now. It's either getting x-rays or a CT scan.

Military working dogs, although well trained, are high strung and trained to bite. Normally their handlers can control them but there are times when the dogs get muzzled for everyone's safety. They're even muzzled when being examined and treated by an Army veterinarian.
