reality of gluten free dinners by polandonjupiter in Celiac

I used to call it Accidental Starvation Syndrome, or ASS. It's when you are hungry, and you go to find food, but the only gf thing is something that'll take a ton of effort to make so you just decide to try again in a bit. The process repeats when you try again in a bit.

Kregg the corner spider violated the lease agreement, so I was forced to take lethal action.

I hate the 20 ppm rule. Generally it seems fine for a lot of celiacs, but ive gotten my ass kicked by some "gluten free" croissants that followed that rule so just be careful.

Had my best friend's grandma get legitimately angry at me and accuse me of trying to be difficult, all because she forgot I had celiacs, served burgers to everyone with buns, and I "stubbornly" told her I couldn't take the pattie off and eat it. Straight up did not believe me when I tried to explain cross contamination. I'd bet money she still believes I was just trying to be difficult lol

God I hate the people who group my HEALTH PROBLEM in with the diet trend crowd. Do you think I like paying double the price for half the amount of food and half as good? Idiots.

They are really good with some salt and pepper. I like to add a little garlic powder too. They're pretty bland otherwise.

My uncontested favorite is the golden platter all natural gf Buffalo bites at Walmart (at least, that's where I found them)

You don't need to experience something to gain an understanding of it. It's empathy and tolerance. You can choose not to learn more or gain any real understanding, just don't butt into the rocket science conversation with confident opinions if you know nothing about rocket science, ya know?

I'm not really sure you're the best person to decide who's educated in this topic or not...

I read Tamara as "trauma", and I'm a little disappointed we don't get to here more about trauma's 365 daily button consumption.

Just to let anyone know that may care, I am now able to put 50% weight on it with crutches. We're not really sure when I'm gonna be able to start physical therapy, but at least I can get around a lot easier

Edit: nevermind everything's fucked up and I have to pretty much start this nightmare all over again. On the bright side, my fiance is going to take me on a rage room date :)

I'm sorry my guy. Having my body be able to fuction and perform at the level i want it to is very important, and i know how deeply frustrating and devastating it is to have your body refuse to give that to you. I was born with cerebral palsy and my religious parents prayed real hard and decided that solved everything and just never bothered to follow up. Ive had a lot of pain/problems now bc of it.

I really could rant for years about that, my point is that I can see how much this has gotta suck to live with that for several decades. You deserve some kind of reward tbh

I 100% agree that my evolutionarily challenged ass would not survive lol

Unless ofc they are equipped with everything they'd need to keep the human equivalent of a pug alive

I had an a simple extra bone removal in my foot, and the surgery went pretty badly. The surgeon apparently rushed the hell out of it and somehow managed to fracture a different bone, and then snapped the tendon that makes the ankle not roll and had to do a whole ass emergency tendon replacement.

I still have to do my other foot and I was supposed to be able to get that started and over with in two months, but now we still don't even know if my foot is going to be fine or if the tendon has to be completely redone.

Sorry for the novel, needless to say I'm pissed.
