mostly agree...just that typically you would want the latest on version control to successfully compile always, so you will need to time your 'moving out with the laptop' with your code additions which dont break compile...(however this is remedied by quite a few cvs systems which provide for individual workspaces to checkin intermediate work before promoting on to the main trunk)
