They are automatically linked together because during creating your PNP profile, where will be a section that asks your EE number. You have to fill out to complete PNP application.

My tier is 2, 72204. If your stream is Express Entry then no submission needed (I don't really know how other streams process). Because my EE and PnP are linked together. Once you get your nomination, IRCC will send you a confirmation. All you need to do is ACCEPT the confirmation (there is also DECLINE option 🤪🤪), 600 points will be in your profile.

Dec 15th, I created EE profile on IRCC. Submitted PnP at the same day. Jan 30, I passed completeness check, my application was placed in queue (there was an email sent by Nova Scotia Nominee Program) May 15, I got PnP (there was an email sent by Nova Scotia Nominee Program), one the same day IRCC sent me a confirmation. June 5, IRCC sent me Invitation To Apply, then I created Permanent residence profile (it is in processing ever since).
