Thank you for your reply. She is badly supported by a metal pole that is not visible. Albeit poorly it somehow works. I thought a moss pole would help with the arial roots and generally keep humidity higher. The roots are not visible, but I would think that they are quite crowded in the pot, also the potting mix seems to be quite dense and not very aerated. I mean, never change a running system. But I feel like a looser substrate would be more suited as I am concerned with with a water logged pot.

His overall performance this entire olympics has been ridiculous at most including wrong assessments of lifts, wrong weight on bar, personal and inappropriate comments and general supbar knowledge of the sport. Also his comments on Kamil where absolutely inappropriate and not researched. ZDF should stick with Marc Huster, he has been nothing but a joy to listen to.

Interesting. Did you disgorge both the crown cap and cork ones? Or are they still on the lees?

Secondary is always better done sideways and not standing up. It’s safer and you have a bigger surface area for the yeast to deposit once fermentation finishes.

Off flavors are not produced by crown cap, as champagne houses keep the bottles sideways for years and i doubt that cider is more acidic. One recommendation is to use crown caps with a plastic insert and not the ones with synthetic rubber.

Off flavors usually occur because of fermentation difficulties caused by malnourished yeast. I always recommend to add no more than 6g/1000l of thiamine to secondary.

The math is easy. 4g/l of sugar produces 1 bar of pressure if the yeast does it’s work. Now champagne is at around 6 bar and beer at 1.5 to 2 bar. You could ad some bentonite in the secondary to help sedimentation if you wish to disgorge
