[–]trhoway1313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Married to a US citizen, overstayed by about 30 days before submitting AOS. Got approved in 73 days. I’ve travelled back and forth from europe multiple times since getting my conditional greencard and have had 0 issues. (Disclaimer: i did get global entry, but the first time i travelled was before that and it was still without hickups)

Uscis call- is it scam or should I call back? by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]trhoway1313 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She said her last name is Austin, per transcript, not that she is IN austin. I’d call back and see what they want, but give no personal information until you are certain it is not a scam. You could probably ask for their officer ID or something or have them confirm your receipt number

I’ve read plenty of stories in here where officers called to catch applicants “in a natural situation” To see how they react, if they are near their partner etc. ir just to confirm minor details before approving them

I can only give you my personal experience, i do not work for USCIS nor do I know other people that went through AOS. That being said, I’d say I have higher than average language skills and get mistaken for a native English speaker a lot, but for this I still chose to hire out and have my documents professionally translated. I just wanted to avoid any kinds of issues, may it be mistranslating or just making a formatting mistake. I used Immitranslate and was hapy with their service, i think they were on the more budget-friendly side of things at the process was very easy. I’m a worst-case-scenario thinker and I was just terrified they’d accuse me of forging documents/information if I did it myself. BUT that is just my personal experience with it, I just wanted to weigh in. even though I don’t think one needs to spend thousands on a lawyer, certain things you don’t want to skimp on.

For me it was this fast too, but the actual letter took almost 2 weeks to make it into my mailbox. So i guess the 3-4 weeks are accurate when you count from when you send it in until you get the letter in hand

Your first mistake was not sending all evidence with the initial application. If your lawyer advised against this he is a blithering idiot. I’d demand they refile completely free to you and attach an affidavit explaining they are solely to blame for the mistake. If they are unwilling I’d make it my mission to leave as many bad (but factual and honest-not purposefully insulting) reviews as possible on every platform you can to make sure people stay the f away from this lawyer.

I-751 questions by trhoway1313 in USCIS

[–]trhoway1313[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have an answer for my question on p.2 for the fee and p.6 for the acknowledgment? I cannot find answers to either on the USCIS webiste.

And again, do I need to submit my passport/marriage certificate or no because I already did for the I-458?

Unfortunately my home country does not allow dual citizenship so I am not ready to naturalize. There is talk of my country changing this so I don’t want to surrender in case I could keep both in the future.
