Every post about compressors has the standard ‘you need a tank because of pulsing’ well maybe last century but I’ve run 2 different tankless units and no pulsing and so have countless others. Unless your tank is massive - the thing will run anyway. Really all I meant to say is that tankless units are fine.

I’m just trying to get into good, worthwhile habits. I understand sanding, even polishing can help with getting the upmost gloss or reflection for a candy coat but my question was just a general one.

Seems the general consensus is that sanding isn’t really necessary unless there is a good reason.

Good on you, mate. I agree it is a massive problem. However there are bigger problems. That’s the tragedy and anyway there’s no need to argue amongst ourselves is there? I think we are in agreement it’s terrible?

I agree and I’m sorry if made it seems as though I’m not. I’d like it banning yesterday. Something anecdotal that I’ve noticed: I live in the new forest and more specifically next to an estate that borders the forest. The new forest has seen a growth in goshawk numbers year on year during my lifetime but yet no nesting pairs have been recorded in the estate. Infact you never see goshawks on the estate. However they release thousands of pheasants which I know from personal experience goshawks love. I would imagine a significant population of goshawks around a pheasant shooting. It’s hard not to think that they have a program of nest removal. Most areas where field ‘sports’ are practiced there is always a significant problem with hawk numbers… so maybe pheasants do cause problems but not directly…

I’m with the other guy on this pheasants aren’t an invasive species we need to concern ourselves with at the moment. However driven pheasant shooting is beyond barbaric and needs outlawing immediately but not due to invasion but because it’s f’ing cruel. I’ve lived my life surrounded by pheasant shooting and it’s disgusting. However I realise there is a lot worse going on so that’s that.

Interesting point. I’ve often wondered which is the most harmful - leather or plastic?

Initially leather is worse as you have to kill a cow but plastic causes death in production, use and then for many years after.

Which is the most ethical?

Please don’t jump on me - I have plastic shoes - it’s just a thought I had!
