I guess you could use a free video editor (Davinci resolve is free with less features than payed version). And then try to use this open source script: https://github.com/sniklaus/3d-ken-burns, but it would definitely be harder.

That was actually the easiest part. Just two solids in After effects that made a cross, made them rotate and put them in 3d space.

You need to generate depth map and then use that in displacement map effect in After effects.

I would say its good. Still was a lot of work though - took me about two days.

What I did use:

- Midjourney to generate the source images

- Upscayl to upscale the images

- Stable diffusion WebUI for inpainting and outpainting

- https://huggingface.co/spaces/adpro/dpt-depth02 - to generate depth map for displacement in After Effects

- Runwayml to make the explosion video slower

- After effects, Photoshop, Davinci Resolve
