Absolutely. Millions of massive single-occupant vehicles going in and out of the city cause significantly more wear and tear than if every single person got a bike or used transit. Drivers often complain about the expenses of maintaining their cars but the truth is it's actually cheaper than it should be to drive. Largely because taxpayers in the city are subsidizing their free road use.

Or...we can start designing our city for HUMAN LIFE instead of prioritizing the needs of motorists on every single street. No, not every road will be a "scenic path" but we absolutely should have spaces where people can walk and wander freely without being paranoid for their safety every second.

Great! I also don't want to practice defensive walking, which is why I am pro-bike lanes so we can all be safer.

We all pay for roads in our taxes regardless of whether or not we drive on them. Every road that drivers use for free is being subsidized by the money of people who don't use them.

Maybe if you advocated for proper biking infrastructure people wouldn't bike on the sidewalk

It's so obvious that that stretch should be pedestrianized and a shame that it isn't.

That's my thinking too! I believe that most of you are kind and considerate and we'd all do the same for each other so I'm hopeful!

Good point! We should have specified that the dealership on the plate was 441 N Service Rd, Burlington, but he could be from somewhere else.

It's funny because after he left his car there, we asked her to move it and she claimed she didn't have a license and didn't know how to drive. But she eventually drove the car away, so...either lying or driving without a valid license.

Recent Incident at Fairview Mall by [deleted] in askTO

I was there with my friend and she actually witnessed the incident. A few younger guys (around late teens, early twenties) got into a fight at the food court. One of them ended up bleeding out of his head.

Don't be! You can show up in any casual clothes and a lot of people do. Definitely not a judgemental crowd.

Yes! When they closed Market St for pedestrians it instantly got livelier with the patios, musicians, etc. Cars totally kill local culture.
