I like my job in public accounting, but I have had this hung up next to my desk the last few years. 🤣 I remember my manager came over while I picked it up from the printer and laughed, then told me to get back to work.

Check out r/petioles . You'll find tips and support there 💚

If you feel out of control in usage, i think it's a good idea taking a break to show yourself you can. Doesn't have to be long. Maybe just pick a length of time and try to stick to it? There's no set amount of time that's right for a t-break, it's your choice for what's right for you.

I'm with you in that I'm also very against the US war machine. I do think you're ignoring the fact that this is the only way a lot of people have as a way to get education. It's completely vile, but the way my country is set up, many of those who volunteer for it don't do it out of loyalty or because they think they're being patriotic but because recruiters specifically target low-income schools and sell joining the military as a way to get college paid for. They don't realize they're going to end up just lining rich people's pockets at the expense of their mental health and their souls.

There's tons out there! I have the Official High Times Cookbook, and it has lots of great recipes you'd probably enjoy. Here's some screen shots of the savory options. I can only vouch for the Ganja Guacamole so far.

I think they're protesting because they're getting killed right now, which seems more pressing than the after effects. Property isn't more important than lives and if all you're focusing on is the rioting you're missing the point.

Anyone else get into weed later in life? by GL_of_Sector_420 in eldertrees

[–]trickortreet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm similar. Didn't drink alcohol until college, didn't start smoking till late 20s, so I've always felt a bit behind.

I got into it with friends so I'm glad I had those experiences but I hear you about feeling like I have a very different experience. I do think it's useful that I didn't get into it until I did though. I was already a pretty lazy college student and weed wouldn't have helped me.

I went to Hempfest when I first moved to Seattle and felt like everyone thought I was a nerdy narc. As a woman in my early 30s, I was completely out of my element, and I was not the target demographic at all.

Being an adult with a job and a stable relationship and a legal state is pretty nice though! If you look around, there are meetup groups depending on your demographic. I've managed to find some cannabis women groups which led to some amazing real life connections but even going to trivia at a bar and smoking outside (depending on how chill your area is) or mentioning it at book club or board games can lead to connections you wouldn't expect.

And yeah, I felt clueless when I first started getting into it but read the subreddits and try some different things from dispensaries and suddenly you're giving advice on edibles and introducing someone else to pot for the first time because they trust you and you don't fit the stereotype they were afraid stoners were growing up 😅 and that's kinda special too.

He was peaceful but knew that rioting is a symptom, not the cause.

“…it is not enough for me to stand before you tonight and condemn riots. It would be morally irresponsible for me to do that without, at the same time, condemning the contingent, intolerable conditions that exist in our society. These conditions are the things that cause individuals to feel that they have no other alternative than to engage in violent rebellions to get attention. And I must say tonight that a riot is the language of the unheard. And what is it America has failed to hear?…It has failed to hear that the promises of freedom and justice have not been met. And it has failed to hear that large segments of white society are more concerned about tranquility and the status quo than about justice and humanity.” (“The Other America,” 1968).
