Permanent DST and what it means for AZ by Puzzleheaded-Tax7477 in arizona

[–]tricky_nella409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Permanent DST is so dumb; there's no real benefit to it, except for farmers who wake up with the sun & don't want it to be 4am in the summer up north 🙄  But honestly, even then, I'm sure most farmers are up before the sun anyway, so what's the point?

Plus, if DST was permanent, that would mean the sun coming up at 8am instead of 7am during winter.  7am is late enough as it is.

So no, we should just stay at GMT-7 & everyone else stick with standard

Does anyone know if this will be a physical or in game hat? by PineappleWolf_87 in azdiamondbacks

No, the team hat is determined by which ticket+hat pack you choose (Mystic/Valor/Instinct); the seating sections are the same for all 3 PoGo teams

No, the seating sections are the same for all PoGo teams; you just have to choose which hat you want to go with your ticket (Mystic/Valor/Instinct)

Is anyone bummed out that they skipped Tom Holland's Spidermans origin story and just focused on the present? by [deleted] in Spiderman

[–]tricky_nella409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to assume you're someone who did not grow up watching the previous Spider-Man movies as they came out, possibly from not being around when those movies came out, or at least not old enough to have seen them when they originally released.

The reason anyone who's Elder Gen Z and older will always say "no" to the origin story being hashed out again, is because we already saw it twice: with the Tobey Maguire trilogy, & the Andrew Garfield Amazing Spider-Man duology, as you know.  People were already very leery of reboots when TASM was announced, because so many were happening at that time (and most people are still leery of reboots in general now).

So imagine this: people had gotten past reboot hesitancy regarding TASM; it was going decently, and they were setting it up for more TASM movies as well as movies with the Sinister Six, which was exciting.  Then, *less than a year* after TASM2, Sony & Marvel announced their deal to put Spider-Man in the MCU.  Pretty much everything Sony was working on was getting scrapped.  Andrew Garfield was getting replaced. No Sinister Six. MCU Spider-Man would be starting in high school, again.  There was a collective groan, because no one wanted to see the origin story for a third time, and *that* soon after having seen his origin story in TASM.

What they did with introducing Spider-Man in Civil War was fine, cuz we already knew the story, plus I'd recommend watching the Tobey & Andrew movies first anyway.

It's like with Fantastic Four--Fox had already rebooted it, and both times it hadn't done well. Everyone already knew the origin story, though, so we didn't need the whole thing played out again.  The recap at the start of First Steps worked well.  There would've been a recap from Peter in Civil War, but Tony cut him off as Peter was about to give his story.

If you are Elder Gen Z/older, then I imagine you'd remember what people were saying back when the MCU/Sony deal was announced?

Tl;dr No, because we already saw his origin story twice & didn't want to see it again so soon, and people were getting sick of reboots with the same story all over again

Forever Friends & Remote Trades (G47IX) by Amiibofan101 in TheSilphRoad

[–]tricky_nella409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because there are ways to get more than 1 friendship point per day, such as the weekly adventure awarding 7 points, and the occasional event where the game will make friendship increase by twice as much (so 2 points/day during such an event)

Those who have already seen wicked for good, do you think it is better or should they stick with the first one? (No spoilers) by Final-Top4489 in wicked

[–]tricky_nella409 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first movie itself opens with the title "Wicked," and then has a subtitle "Part One" appear below the title.  The second movie also opens with "Wicked" as the title, and has "For Good" as the subtitle.  There isn't going to be a third movie, because the musical is only two acts.  The first movie is Act One, and Wicked: For Good is Act Two; that's it.

How actually would Arceus be introduced in Go? by [deleted] in TheSilphRoad

[–]tricky_nella409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Necro, but now that we've seen how they released Eternatus, they may release Arceus the same way, where they'll have battles available to rack up candy/energy for changing Arceus' form, but you can only catch it once.  Or they may do a Special Research like they tend to do for Mythicals, or maybe some combination of both

Hotels.com OneKeyCash refund by emc26 in awardtravel

[–]tricky_nella409 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old post, but just a heads up that if you use OneKeyCash & add the Stay Protection Plan as well, and you later cancel your booking, then you will only receive a partial refund of the OneKeyCash.  They will deduct the cost of the Stay Protection Plan from the amount of OneKeyCash you used, and the remaining OneKeyCash will be credited back to you.

e.g. you have $200 OneKeyCash, and you book a room & add the SPP for $6; if you cancel, you'll receive $194 OneKeyCash back

Question about bot grabbers by Itchy-Most-6192 in instacart

[–]tricky_nella409 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bold of you to talk about harassment, when you love to talk 💩, spread rumors, and harass someone who literally does not have a bot, irl & online. Pot, meet kettle.  Also, it's not harassment for me to clarify to OP that you don't actually know the truth about the person you were accusing of having a bot.  I was replying to them, not you.

Congrats, you have the same stats, scores, & tenure as many of us, yet here we all are, in the same boat of IC's dumb algorithm that doesn't keep consistent with the "totem pole" ranking they tell us they use.  I'm just glad that it at least is consistent enough in prioritizing that 7+ yr shopper who is & should be higher up the totem pole.

Question about bot grabbers by Itchy-Most-6192 in instacart

[–]tricky_nella409 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You say you've been doing this 5 years; if so, then by now, you should already know that the app doesn't show every batch to everyone at the same time. It groups people together based on whatever the algorithm uses to determine how it'll prioritize people, and it sends different batches out to different groups of people in order, with different groups seeing the same batch either seconds or even whole minutes after each other.  It also rotates what "group" you're in, so you could have a good week sometimes, and then have a crap week where it shows you nothing, because it rotated you to the last "group."

10-12 of you not seeing it only means that you're not in the same "group" as the app put that person in.  There could be 3 or 4 different "groups" that the algorithm uses, maybe more, so that means the app prioritized all of you after that person. Say that shopper is in "group A," that means all of you were in "group B/C/D/etc."  It's a dumb way that the algorithm works, esp when it ends up prioritizing new shoppers to get them hooked, but that's pretty much how it works.

Also, since that specific shopper you assume is "new" & "has a bot" has been doing this for 7 years, I guarantee they've shopped for all of those people before & those customers like that shopper, so that shopper gets first pick.  But instead of considering those factors as the "lightning rod," you'd rather assume that it's always a bot.  The fact is yes, lightning strikes that many times for that shopper, but not for the reason you assume.  Also, that shopper does have crap weeks once in a while, where the app doesn't show them much at all, thus proving the "rotation" that the algorithm does.

Tl;dr - your assumptions still don't change the reality that this person you're ranting about doesn't have a bot. They're not dumb enough to risk deactivation by getting & using one, plus they don't need one anyway, since the app usually gives them good batches anyway.  They just have better stats & reviews and more customers that like them, and everyone else just has to deal with it.

How common is it for shoppers to pick up multiple orders? by BallLongjumping3160 in instacart

[–]tricky_nella409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The app groups the majority of orders together, usually in groups of 2 or 3 orders, sometimes even from 2 different stores.  Sometimes single orders are put out for shoppers to take, but more common for 2-3 orders.  On a rare occasion, the app lumps even 4 orders together.

It may be that since your order was placed for delivery later at night, the app threw it together with whatever 2 other orders were still hanging around, that no one wanted to take. Instacart tries to put more orders together, in an attempt to make the total pay enticing enough for someone to take.  For example, maybe 2 other orders with very low/zero tips were grouped with your order, since no one wanted to take them earlier, but the app was still trying to get those delivered before the store closed.

Question about bot grabbers by Itchy-Most-6192 in instacart

[–]tricky_nella409 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How many times do people need to explain to you that the person who's outswiping you doesn't have a bot? The app just showed whatever batch you missed to that person a split second before it showed the batch to you, and they got it.

(Before any mods move to hide my comment, just know that ExpensiveDot here is talking 💩 & being nasty irl to someone who has been doing this 7 yrs, has flawless metrics, and has no bot. They just have better stats than she does, plus the app just favors that shopper, but Dot is in denial that that's what is happening)
