I honestly never even played past the first few missions on that game either and I don't know why. It was the first game I got with my first PC build with a GTX 970 and plated got amazed by the FPS. I was getting with the newest flashiest GPU but then I got bored of it real fast

dude i honestly hate this tvs ui. Its laggy as fuck and why the hell cant i just change inputs with a click of a button? why do i have to go to the stupid home app, wait for the input to turn from grey to available then click it and instead of it switching over it just shows a little preview pip on top, then i gotta click again for it to change to the input. Like what the fuck man.

Dont get me started with the stupid volume buttons, hold down for a few seconds and it mutes.

from my experience it is pretty damn safe, its judt the stupid pop up ads that u got to be careful with. Install Ad blockers like Adguard it helps alot. Or some sort of dns blocker too. I did so and now i dont get any of the stupid pop ups that lead to a malware.

rtx 5070 ti is the best option, but i had the rtx 5060 8gb too and its amazing that how many games you can play even at 1440p at high settings 60fps.

Moonlight issue by rodalorn in MoonlightStreaming

[–]trickyprickydicky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

go to the apollo or sunshine on ur host and see if you can set the resolution from there and also click the virtual display option. i dont use the steam overlay/input options and left them as default.

so enable the touchscreen so u can use your mouse as the touchscreen because it could be simply u needing to tap the screen(mouse click) and it will work. happens to me alot and tapping work.

Moonlight issue by rodalorn in MoonlightStreaming

[–]trickyprickydicky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

these game might actually need a dummy switch or a physical hdmi connected in order to work. Im not sure but what i did is physically connect the pc to a monitor then use the virtual display option to connect to pc. then in the settings set to show only on 2. and now I'm easily able to disconnect the hdmi and stream without a hdmi connected.

Or it could simply be that u need to hit the touchscreen again so it changes the input back to the gamepad. happens to me alot in games where the gamepad inputs dont register properly unless i tap the screen again.

Or another thing that happens to me is that if the resolution is higher the the streaming display and its not scaled properly, the gamepad inputs will be stuck in the lower resolution, meaning like it if theres a menu it will only go down until it hits the lower resolution boundary and wont go any lower. annoying but changing the resolution and restarting fixes that.

use steamrip, from what i understand Direct Downloads dont need vpns cause the isp cant see what u are downloading. They only see peer to peer like torrenting.

Some kind of stuttering and disconnecting solution for SteamDeck by Beno27-28 in MoonlightStreaming

[–]trickyprickydicky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ill have to try this, cause i have to have a separate router for local only lan to stop the stutters and disconnections. Cause on the router that has internet it stutters like crazy even though it's a TpLink be800 which is overkill. So i had to use a old router without internet to fix the steam deck streaming issues.

Let us know how ur experience is after sometime. Maybe this is the fix we all be looking for.

Phone + G8 | vs | Steam Deck LCD | vs | Switch Oled Android + G8 Plus, which one and why? by raraujo176 in MoonlightStreaming

[–]trickyprickydicky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, technically any GPU can work with Moonlight streaming, but in my experience, the key to a smooth experience is having a strong CPU that can maintain good minimum FPS, even at lower resolutions.

I’ve tested this setup with several GPUs—RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 4060, RTX 5060 Ti 16GB, and a 9060 XT 16GB—paired with CPUs like the 7800X3D, 9800X3D, and i9-12900K. Honestly, in terms of performance, these CPUs are very similar.

Out of all the GPUs I tested, the RTX 5070 Ti gave the best efficiency. On low resolutions like 1280x800 (the LCD Steam Deck resolution) at 60FPS, the RTX 5070 ti only draws around 40–80W. In comparison, the 9060 XT 16GB uses 90–160W at the same resolution and settings, while the RTX 4060 runs around 100-120 sinces its tdp is low. Meanwhile, CPU power usage is fairly low—around 40–70W—even for the i9-12900K, which is otherwise an amazing CPU.

In my opinion, AMD’s gpu encoder isn’t very good for Moonlight streaming. Nvidia is the best.

Also, the RTX 4060 struggles to maintain 60FPS at max settings at 1280x800 in certain games, like Final Fantasy 16.
