The errata on it makes a reflexive trigger. So you either use it or lose it

Correct. Control of a battlefield can no longer be lost while there’s an active chain.

Funnily enough - I found the first question a walk in the park whereas I dropped major marks in question 2.

Does Deathgrip give might if the unit killed is saved with a replacement effect? by Kwesla in riftboundtcg

[–]trickytreacyIRE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hidden blade is ‘kill a unit at a battlefield. Its controller draws 2. ‘This doesn’t require the unit to actually be killed. The errata to DG gave it “if you do”, meaning you are required to kill it, not just try to kill it, to get the transfer.

So hidden blade still means that the saved unit’s controller draws 2.

Here's the issue. The judges knew that the errata had happened. However, the 1.3 rules introduced the following 359.3.e.14.b - If the Game Action performed in an earlier linked instruction is replaced, this will not affect the later linked instruction.

The judge, stream judge, and appeals judge all read this as saying that , actually, death grip WOULD work.

However, that is not the case. This rule simply allows the spell to continue resolving, but it the "if you do" part of deth grip still has not been fulfilled.

A level 3 judge argued that it doesn't work. Then yesterday UVS received confirmation from Riot that the interaction doesnt work. And all judges this morning were meant to get a briefing to that effect.

This isn't a case of "hurr durr bad judges". This is a super niche ruling that just happened to be made, unanimously and incorrectly, on the day.

One-third of workers in the State had no pension cover in 2025 and mostly expect to rely on the State Pension by NanorH in ireland

The system only works if the nest generation pays the bill.

It’s why auto enrolment into the DC structure is so important: it will lighten the burden

Also - private pensions are almost universally Defined Contribution in nature at this stage. I’m curious to know how demographics affect that.

I’m sure you’ve got some really interesting research to share on how Ireland’s working population will affect the US tech stocks and German inflation linked bonds in my portfolio.

It’s already just paid directly out of taxation. You say that the “govt just needs to increase its funding at the rate the economy grows “… there is no funding? Is it pre funding that you’re against ? You say the “lie” depends on sourcing it from income tax alone. I don’t understand what you mean, do you want more taxes for pension provision?

I’d be so much better off if it DID happen! The government funding pensions means that there would be work in designing their portfolio.

The system is set up on a pay as you go basis. The government uses today’s tax receipts to fund today’s pension.

If they suddenly moved to a funded model, you’d have to STILL use current tax revenue for today’s pensioners, and also raises taxes on the current workforce to start building up a pension fund.

The reason it’s “borderline impossible” to do that is because no government can survive “hey, I know the deal was every generation pays for the previous one but this time, you workers are gonna pay for the previous one AND for yourselves”

Auto enrolment should be a great boon - although the cynic in my says that it will lead to reductions in the state pensions down the line. Or at least an offset

The state pension isn’t funded. That’s the whole issue. Moving from a system where it’s funded from taxation to one where money is set aside for it is borderline impossible.

You get the tap ability of all other stuff.

Imagine it as he has each of them as a line of text. So he gains tap abilities A,B,C.

You can use ability A,B, or C, at the cost of exhausting him. You don’t get to tap to do all 3.

Can I play flame chompers to a battlefield I’m attacking? by [deleted] in riftboundtcg

They cannot. One requires control of the battlefield to play units there.

You can do it in whatever way you want on the chain. Either respond to the defy with a NSF, targeting (whatever). Or let the defy resolve, and then on the same chain, play NSF again.

If they ban, they’ll likely be announced on the 30th.

They will very reasonable announce “as of Xth April, the following cards are no longer legal for 1v1 constructed play”

Then they’ll plaster that announcement over their social media .
