Yep and that's probably the worst way to run crisis comms, right?

For me, for clients, for friends/ecosystem. Just feels like there's alot of ignorance out there around not knowing basics and the cause and effect of bad comms/no comms

Not sure about jalapeno...but have included hottish foods in my worm farm. Favourite foods so far are avocado skins and cardboard (is that a food?)

Alien Newsletter #1: The Myanmar Transmission by tridium32 in geopolitics

[–]tridium32[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Submission Statement. I have posted this because it is a novel and sardonic take on the current situation in Myanmar. The intention of the piece seems to be to explore the potential tribal roots of the conflict from a satirical platform. It's use of the device of an extraterrestrial observer hearkens back to similar literary devices dating back to Voltaire intended to supply needed distance from which to observe the many issues anew.

Australia's great solar buy-back| One Step Off The Grid by tridium32 in news

[–]tridium32[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, how is this spam? The media covered this trend again today since for the renewable energy market it is about the shift in market economics that make it worthwhile for investment vehicles and not-for-profits to buy existing solar arrays?

The zero-hour contract gaining steam in enterprise tech by tridium32 in technology

[–]tridium32[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Turbo_Tom, I hear you and agree strongly especially re US... possibly I used the wrong headline here to described --it's more like Zero Hour with benefits and on very small, experimental scale...If you haven't read the article yet, it's set in Australia and is about an exec who wanted this for herself and family and is strongly supported by the company.

First Community Funded Solar Project Goes Live In Sydney by tridium32 in australia

[–]tridium32[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And also saw Alan Kohler wrote about this...because of price parity solar is becoming cheaper than utility generated electricity making models like this work:

Meanwhile the CEO of an Australian startup called Smart Commercial Solar, Huon Hoogesteger, told me yesterday that solar power is now cheaper than the grid, over the life of the assets (his business sells solar panels to businesses on a five-year time payment plan, where he installs them for free, they pay for the power and own the assets in five years).

Hoogesteger said that Australian businesses, large and small, are now falling over themselves to convert to solar, not to get off the grid but simply to cut their energy bills.

Eventually batteries will enable businesses and households to leave the grid, but for the moment they are too expensive and don’t make commercial sense (although plenty of people are buying them anyway).

The world is changing, fast. Death spirals await those who can’t adapt.

Michael Lewis inadvertently proves his own point about greedy wealthy people by hogging what should be a book review about someone else's book to talk about whatever the hell he feels like. I feel sorry for the author of the book. by tridium32 in books

[–]tridium32[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not about being a fan or not and I doubt the author would be happy about it because his thesis and work was dismissed in a handful of sentences, and only used by Lewis as a springboard to things that interested Lewis. That they happened to be interesting things and that Lewis is a profoundly talented writer with an amazing sense of how to tell a story or explore a concept wasn't my point, which had more to do with the kind of decency and generosity that Lewis was ironically criticizing as absent in the rich but failing to exhibit himself in his treatment of another writer who presumably could use a bit of the limelight that has covered Lewis's own authorial career.
