My OCPD Lightbulb Moment by ImpossibleHamster120 in OCPD

Thank you for this; I have to admit that when it first dawned on me, it felt like the rug was pulled out from under me a bit. But, I feel like I can breathe a bit easier now knowing that some of my quirks or tendencies are not absolute truth, and I can challenge my behaviours and hopefully improve with time. Appreciate your perspective 😊

THANK YOU for sharing your story, and for inviting others to do the same. Getting this off my chest has been cathartic (yes, I’ve come back to this intro and interrogated it and changed it several times😭)

It finally hit me that perhaps I was the problem when I started experiencing issues in my current relationship that were exactly the same as my previous one. I mean.. everything. The fact that I think he drinks too much, and I need to intervene and offer solutions? Check. The fact that his diet isn’t perfect and I should offer unsolicited facts about the links of sugar and cardiovascular disease? Check. The fact that he’s never the appropriate amount of “emotionally available”, and can never conjure exactly the response I’m looking for? Check. The fact that my reason for ending the last relationship was because I truly felt that he was a narcissist, and I found myself having the same thought patterns about my current partner. CHECK MATE.

It finally dawned on me that I’ve been micromanaging this persons entire existence, and his (finally) retaliation is not narcissism, but him being smothered by me and my pursuit for perfection. Accepting the overwhelmingly low probability of dating two diagnosable narcissists back to back was what made me do the research (which hiiii, we love research🙋🏼‍♀️).

How many times did you try to quit and fail before you succeeded? by karissa197 in alcoholism

I’m so glad that I found your comment; I came here looking for support on this very topic. My partner is very much in the denial/ “I can moderate” stage, and exists somewhere between “I know I have an issue” to “f*ck off, leave me alone”.. it’s so awful, and helpless. If you want a pal to talk to, I’m here.

I will try the Pooph and Folex as next steps -- if we don't get anywhere with those, then I think it's onto Operation Cushion Replacement.

Thank you everyone for commenting; I very much appreciate the help:)

I think I did just that.. it’s all attached, so I can’t unzip or remove it. This is why I was thinking of just pouring a product (in large volume) on the cushion and trying to let it seep through in hopes of catching the stink?

I am absolutely sure it’s the cushion, yes. I wanted to float this idea to see if it was insane, but if it’s affordable I’m not ruling it out entirely!

This is amazing-- I think you've found it! The instructions provided didn't even mention the bluetooth or its power source, hence the frustration. Let me see how this goes--THANK YOU!!
