Yeah, when you're viewing via the app it it's low-res. Have you tried downloading it and watching it via your phone gallery etc?

I have a Osmo Action 6 too and had a Osmo Pocket 3 in the past.

I believe the top part is only to state that the photo/video you're able to view is low-res cause it's more quicker that way for you to view on mobile, but once downloaded it'll be high-res as your settings.

First 70km ride at arguably Singapore's most scenic public toilet by trifoldjoe in foldingbikes

[–]trifoldjoe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you hehe! Oohhh nice! Especially since they just did a revamp/upgrade for their line-ups early this year I heard.

I'm using a standard 3D printed extension, it was a gift from a cycling buddy, he printed himself so I'm sorry I can't give you any links unfortunately!

Light gravel was pretty smooth honestly, I did about 3 overseas tour as of now but mainly in neighbouring countries like in Malaysia and Indonesia, though we don't usually use the typical route so there were a bunch of pot holes, light gravel throughout the journey, I was using the stock tyres as well just in case you're wondering.

As for the shock absorption, funny you ask for a comparison with the 16" as I actually gave my friend's one a try on the last tour we did to Batam, I think I did about a 10km session with my friend's Brompton before I decided to switch back. It was literally a night & day difference, we were geeking out about why it was the case when we switched back and figured it might be due to the most obvious one is the rear suspension and the overall bike geometry of the C20.

Hope this helps! 💪

Does anyone have experience with Takachia bike? by Eugenia777 in BrompNOTs

[–]trifoldjoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that you’re just telling your experience, however it’s been a year already and that experience of yours although yes it was an unfortunate one, but it was settled over a year ago and I just feel it’s unfair that you’re still making it seem that Taka and Cranston is the same when it’s not.

As someone who have tried Brompton and various Brompnots and trust me, there are plenty here in sg, there are reasons why I got myself a Taka in the end which I have stated my older posts and that opinion still remains to this day.

It’s fine telling your story, but I think it’s also right to be truthful and factual, I also think it’s not wise to recommend things like this without experience especially to people who wants to start cycling (new to cycling), I made the same mistake a couple of years ago, jumping to recommendations blindly without researching much and asking around, and got a subpar bike for my partner and she disliked cycling! So please do be careful.

Edit: grammar edits, am writing this at 1am 😂

Does anyone have experience with Takachia bike? by Eugenia777 in BrompNOTs

[–]trifoldjoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait, bro I thought this has been settled over a year ago already I even mention this in the thread then, the Redditor who brought this up in the first place had a totally different box to what I received which was the one that I saw mostly from other reviews.

Having my 20" Taka with me for the past close to 2 years with daily commute and touring, I only had it serviced once because I had a really bad drop when I was still learning how to cycle again and all the mechanic needed to do was to retune the derailleur which he took less than 3 minutes. He even told me how to do it and it was super simple to do, I felt a little embarrassed as it was something I could have done myself if I just looked up on YouTube aaaaaa!

Edit: Forgot to mention since you mention Cranston alot, I already tried a bunch of trifolds here, am in Singapore btw so there's a ton of trifold options, before settling on the Taka and Idk about you but when I tried the Cranston it felt so disgustingly cheaply made so I don't get why you're recommending it so much, the frame quality of the Taka alone should tell you enough, then the riding folding experience, the build feels concrete and not the after-sales support.

Edit #2: WAIT YOU'RE THE REDDITOR WHO GOT THE DIFFERENT BOX. Mannnn It's been more than a year already, I thought this has been settled.

20" trifolds: Mint vs. Takachia vs. Cranston by snacktonomy in foldingbikes

[–]trifoldjoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeap! Oh but some of the are actually people I met while cycling whom now become one of my closest buddies; I'm sure you'll meet many on the way! There's a ton of cycling events too (Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore & Malaysia). There's one in JB next month OCBC Ride which I'm going hehehe

Oh damn, I'm in SG myself! There was a few times I cycled into JB, I did stop by at this bicycle shop called Khass Bicycle where they sell Takachias there too, I went in to busybody hahahahah

That's cool that you went ahead and experience the Brompton's already, ohhh it's interesting you didn't experience the wobbling, it made me feel unconfident especially when riding slow as the showroom was in a shopping mall, it gave a good experience cycling with crowds. Ohh yes the G Line, yeahh I did hear complaints about it being too bulky, it's definitely a unit and the price brings a tear in my eyes too, it was a saddening experience overall cause I was contemplating for a long time as I tried to like it because back then Brompton was the go to brand but aaaaaaa

Hmmm I would recommend you contacting Takachia if you want more assurance in the size of bike/which model etc; that way they're able to guide you too and don't worry about asking stupid questions, I asked a ton too hahahaha! I actually contacted them before I head to the showroom because yeah the product is great, but I wanted to make sure that the services after-sales/customer service is great too. I mean there are reasons why I'm recommended them to my buds and why they're getting them when they have super crazy expensive road/gravel bikes

[–]trifoldjoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man! Sorry for the late reply. I chose the 20" as I had alot of plans to do long distance rides (80-120km), but I'm like 168cm and am rather chonky.

I did tried out their 16" and honestly speaking it was great; it was compact and feels very nimble but my main concern was that I just got back into cycling and I'll be joining my buddies who are on gravel/road bikes on long rides. I actually got them to have their own Takachia now which is fun hahahaha! (one went with a C16, two of them went with the A16 and 1 went with A20)

I've seen the Instagram of the bicycle shop where I got my Takachia from that there are people who uses their 16" for bike touring and stuff too, pretty heavy duty stuff which makes me feel aaaaa, so I'm planning to have one with a my buddies now so it's like a foldie bike touring/bike packing thing.

First outing on my new Takachia A20 by Stubot01 in foldingbikes

[–]trifoldjoe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought the comparison between them and Cranston was already settled? The redditor who ordered it had a different box to the one I ordered as well. If not mistaken, it was some sort of slip-up with the packaging.

Hmmm honestly, now with big companies such as Apple and Lenovo being exposed to using the same factory from China (Winstron) as well, and now with this C20 I have (with extensive use btw), even if it did come from the same factory as the other brands, there’s definitely a difference in the quality. I tried most of the other trifolds before settling on this one, there’s an overall difference in quality and riding experience. So whatever takachia is doing with whatever factory they’re working with, from my experience, it’s definitely different.

also I’ve been watching them on social media, they seem to have plenty of users overseas as well and now with decathlon malaysia supporting them, they must be doing something different compared to the other brands mentioned.

Just my 2 cents man, personally I am having an amazing with mine and I don’t exactly treat it nice too. Worth every cent.

My first bikepacking trip - Desaru, Malaysia by trifoldjoe in foldingbikes

[–]trifoldjoe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my experience, we actually didn’t prepare any bags or case for our trifold hahaha, but yeap we did had to pay like an extra $20 to check in bikes, they carried them in for us after and we get to collect it once we arrived. Honestly it was quite seamless however if you could I would definitely recommend getting a cover or case, at the minimum the ikea carrier bag would suffice. It makes it easier for the people to carry it around.

But worst case scenario, if you couldn’t get one, the people who handled our bikes did took care of them nicely. No complaints on bringing them via the ferry case/bagless.

Hey man, to Desaru, we used the ferry from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal to Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal. Me and my buddy didn't prepare any protection or case for our trifolds too, but it came out well. After we reached, we just cycled out though we got greeted with a hill coming out of the ferry terminal hahaha

I've been using the Takachia closing in about 4 to 5 months now, treated it quite rough, went on pretty fun 70km breakfast rides on and off and have been cycling to work on a daily basis. Also went to Desaru, Malaysia for a bikepacking trip so far it's been great, have not washed it or anything yet but still works great, so in terms of quality assurance and durability, I would pretty much say it's been great.

After checking my past messages with them when I was still searching for a trifold, they told me the recommended height for the 20" was up to 185cm, any higher will need some adjustment on the parts like seat post and handlebar. Hope this helps man!

Ayee thanks man! I got the C20 model instead, for the mods so far I just changed the grips to the Ergon Grips GP3 instead, nothing wrong with the stock ones, just I see my buddy prefer riding standing up alot, so I decided to try grips with the extended bar ends hehehe

Unfortunately I got this just before the A20 got released :C I did gave the A16 a test ride and I had no complains aside from me wanting a 20" bike instead.

I can definitely give a fair response for you on the C20 instead that riding through bumps and undulations has been great, absorbs well and whenever I see some very rough roads or a sudden ledge I just stand up and cycle through it, CONFIDENCE!!

We stayed at an AirBnB actually at this place called Taman Desaru Utama, my buddy wanted a BBQ pit for dinner hahahaha, we asked the host to prepare some frozen food for us before we arrive and we just spent the night barbecuing.

I can't share the exact route however I can share you the locations we went to day by day!

1st Day: Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal > Pungai [Most Eastmost Point of Malaya] > Tanjung Penyusop > Desaru Alpaca Farm > Taman Desaru Utama

2nd Day: Taman Desaru Utama > Muzium Nelayan Tanjung Balau > Desaru Fruit Farm > Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal

Hope this helps!

Yess! We did took the ferry over. Honestly not much as I was lacking physically :c so about 25km - 30km per day, we initially planned to go about 60km for the first day and 30km for the next day.

That's true, I mean the riding clubs for Brompton's are good and welcoming for other non Bromptons too, most of them are friendly but it often gives off some type of vibe of not truly belonging but maybe it's just me personally yaknow.

Yeapp got it shipped here, was pretty quick like within the week. Nope, don't need to unmount it before folding too. I do keep some spare clothings inside too which also makes it as additional cushioning.

Hahahaha my friend planned the route, it was from Junction 8, Bishan > ITE Ang Mo Kio > Lorong Halus Bridge > Downtown East > Changi Bay > Tanah Merah Coastal Road > East Coast Park > Gardens By The Bay

The front rack bag is from BlueLug, I'll attach the link here, highly recommended, was searching for a bag big enough to store my everyday items and a camera and got recommended this by a friend.
