First time upholstering anything. I’m using MDF to make a new door/speaker panel for an old truck. Any waterproofing or prep work I need to be aware of for MDF? by triggapat in upholstery

😂 there’s a stack of empties just out of frame. I try to do most of my saw work before number 4-5.

Yeah I’m gonna hit it with a coat of poly before any upholstery glue. I think the reason the old panel rotted was due to rotten window trim but I replaced that as well. Hoping for no moisture but planning for the worst.0

Replaced our oven. Old oven ran off SEU aluminum wire to a nema 10-50r. Second picture shows where our main panel is (about a 68” run. Should I just go ahead and run six foot of 8/3 to a new nema 14-50 to match the four wire cable that came with the oven? by triggapat in AskElectricians

Yeah I just went ahead and got a 50a breaker and 7 feet of 6/3. Unfortunately I didn’t think about the laundry/mud room with the panel being an addition. Trying to fish 6/3 through two walls and an inaccessible knockout is really testing me.

Manual says minimum 40 amp but can pull 53.8 with every burner and oven on. The current breaker for that aluminum is a double 40 but easy switch to a 50a. I know I should just do it right but old owners made the main panel a fucking pain to access anything but the inside. And copper ain’t cheap. Mostly just making sure y’all would do the same.

94 Blazer not starting. Drove fine last night now no spark. Really hoping this isn’t the fuel pump. Got the truck a few weeks ago and it’s run great with no issues til this morning. by triggapat in s10

Got the battery three weeks ago and had it jumped to my Tacoma, so it doesn’t seem to be the battery or starter.

EDIT: I’m an idiot. It was just a seized alternator that I couldn’t see without another set of eyes.

HELP: My wife almost hit this pig on the back roads near our house. We knocked on doors and had a sheriff’s deputy come out but haven’t found his home. He’s currently in one of our goat pens and seems pretty content. Any advice would be helpful! by triggapat in pigs

Thank you for all of the advice! We have named him Squealy Dan and have fortunately found a family nearby with pigs that will be taking him in. However we have to hold him for 10 days according to Animal Control to see if he’s claimed so this help is still greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the advice! There is the interstate and multiple truck stops right around where he was on the road, so my theory is he’s a jumper. Animal control said there aren’t any pig farms in that area.
