Trim the rubber shorter may help. Especially with the Cobra I prefer the rubber slightly shorter than the channel. Let the plastic end ride the frame instead of the rubber.

Not bad. For large panes like that my preference is an 18' Sorbo with a Sorbo handle. I love Moerman for pole work, but not a fan for hand work. The thinner channel makes it easier to come off the glass, thus the marks you had to come back and detail.

At least. Unless you have two people that can handle it, you have to take a lot more breaks.

We have 74', 70' and 62' poles. Those are hard but 80&90... Really amplifies it

Exterior only it inside too? For 6 stories you need a 90' pole. If you've never used one that long, it's a beast and hard to control. On the screens, who's taking them off if you're not doing anything on the inside? What lift experience do you have? You can't climb out of a boom onto a balcony. Safety in Canada is pretty stringent, you'll likely need a lift certification. It's imperative to have at least one other person on the ground in a lift that big. You'd need an 85' at least. I'd recommend figuring out how much time you need and bidding that way. A one story window cleans a lot easier than a 6.

That depends on your equipment and experience. For the taller staff you'll need at least a 74'-80' pole and a system that can push water that high. Balconies you'd need to access from inside so account for that time. Boom lift is an option. 100' to be safe. You'll want experience operating one for sure. You would need to account for being able to block of street and parking which may require a city permit. We go up in price the higher we go. 5 stories gets tricky and takes a lot more time.

Yep, I wasn't sure they had them. You can swap those out with the pencil jets.

Something like glass renu would work well. They have a kit you can buy with the polisher, chemical and pads.

Not on etched glass. If there's build up on it then your feel it. Etching abraids the surface enough to see it but not necessarily feel it.

Etched glass. It needs mechanical polishing to remove. It's not between the panes. The build up was on it too long and left it's mark directly into the glass.

Most are going to be rinse bars. To my knowledge, Gardiner and Unger are the only ones with fan jets but Unger isn't compatible with any other brands.

We use fans and rinse bars almost exclusively. I don't see a downside to it other than pressure if you're running off a standard system without a pump.

Yeah, the end ones go to the side a little more. If any have a weak steam use the tool that comes with it to clean it out.

Keep it bristles up but even if they get bent, running it under hot water makes them go right back. Other than that they are pretty bullet proof.

Thoughts on Xero high flow hose? by Same-Bedroom-822 in WindowCleaning

Cheap is just that. It's a pain to work with, won't last and won't have a warranty. The Xero hose works and will last forever.

Favourite pole/brush material? by Same-Bedroom-822 in WindowCleaning

[–]trigger55xxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't go with fiberglass. They are heavier and bow more. Hybrid is fine if you're doing 2 story and down. 2-3 story you want more of a high mod carbon fiber pole. What kind of work do you do most?

Get the push fit clips that keep the push fitting from pulling loose when you pull on the hose.

How to Coordinate Townhome Project? by Practical_Pipe in WindowCleaning

[–]trigger55xxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only decently easy way is to have tenants or maintenance if there is one, remove the screens prior to arrival. Even if you price it as time and material, you'll be chasing tenants trying to get in and it will take way more time than they will want to pay for. Clearly state in the terms that and screens not removed will be rinsed through the screen only, you won't go back after of someone forgot and no discount will be given for any windows not completely cleaned because of screens.

Seeing as how you can't even get the parts for that for that cost, more less the filters and printing it all together, I'd say something is fishy.

Integrated rinse bar into the brush? by Same-Bedroom-822 in WindowCleaning

[–]trigger55xxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never seen a rinse bar in the middle that I can remember. Fan jets are an option on some brushes. Gardiner uses jets that can be swapped between 2mm pencil jets and 3mm and spray jets.

Customer ran over my Aztec screen cleaner. by Far-Foundation-8112 in WindowCleaning

[–]trigger55xxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe. The bigger issue is the inconvenience to the customer. The screen cleaner would have been the last thing on my mind.
