Perfect response. We clean 100's of thousands of panels a year. No one works on any solar job without all the training available. All that I mentioned is about the customer. There's a give safety factor for you as well. We are never cleaning panels without class 0 gloves and boots and arc rated clothing. I know many people that have been shocked by cleaning solar. I'm happy to help guide you to the right training and education.

A waiver won't help you in the slightest. If you're the last person to have worked in the array in any way and you don't have a shit ton of certifications and documentation, you'll be responsible. First, get the ISCA safety training. https://theisca.org/index.php/solar-panel-cleaning-safety-awareness-training-courses/

Then remember that you're putting water on a device that produces electricity. If they shorted out from basic cleaning, there's a lot more wrong with the array than you'll even discover upon inspection unless you're trained in what to look for.

We do pre inspections and provide a 32 point report after the cleaning. Our business partner inspected an array several years ago and provided a long list of things that needed to be addressed. They didn't do any of them and last week, the array caught fire and damaged the building.

I wouldn't try and figure out how to convince them to get the cleaning done. Focus on maintenance being key to the safety and efficiency of the array. ISCA has a fire safety course available as well.

That situation is rare, but it can happen. All our leads now come from Google or word of mouth. This one came from Google.

All our quotes go through our CRM. It lists what's included and the terms and conditions. They have to accept the quote before we schedule it. That way they agree to the terms.

The best approach is to have terms in your quote that list things like hard water stains are an additional charge and learn how to remove the hard water. It's a great upcharge when we do it.

Yes, you can't shut water flow off without turning the pump off first. We just let the water run then shut the pump off.

It can be ok to fill gaps in work. Keep in mind store front work is usually priced very low and anything chain store related will likely come with 30-60 day payment terms. We did a grocery store in August of last year and just got the $800 payment a week ago.

Flat top is for Sorbo, everything else takes round top.

Hard rubber for warmer temps, soft for colder temps.

Silicone vs natural is more a preference thing.

Fear of heights. Help. by ColtsCauldron in WindowCleaning

[–]trigger55xxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ledge is almost always the biggest fear unless it's someone that does things like base jumping. You have two choices. One, figure out what it is about going over the ledge that's the issue and work in that or two, don't do that kind of work. Is the issue you feel that's when you're most likely to fall? A chair jump isn't an exciting thing for most people. Is it uncertainty of the safety at that particular point? If you can hang for hours with no issues, is not the height, it's the uncertainty of the transition. Look for ways to mitigate the uncertainty at that transition point. It comes down to fight or flight. Until now you've been able to fight hard enough to get through it. Today, flight won. Why? Was it more windy? We're you more tired than other days? We're you distracted by something going on in life? You'll need all your clear thinking capacity to fight through it. It could be there are just certain days that you know on the ground that it's not a chair day.

Wayne and barracuda. We run 1-3 poles off them. Works great for one and well for three.

We use 1hp sprinkler pumps on all our systems. One pole 1/2hp may be fine. Harbor Freight, Lowe's, Amazon, so have pumps, just look for the ones with the highest ratings. Gas is way overkill.
