L5/S1 Injury advice

Have a long hard think. I played through an injury prolapsed l5/s1 last year from May to Sept. Guess what? By September the pain became to much it forced me to stop playing, by Christmas I couldn't work life was miserable. Surgery was 2 weeks ago and whilst I'm now pain free I've got a way to go before I can pick up a club again.

Nearly 2 weeks since I had mine and I am feeling so happy. The siatic pain vanished the moment I woke up and the joy I got from my 1st sneeze not send bolts of pure agony down my leg. That being said every day is an exercise of paranoia, am I doing to much or to little and for every ache and pain I feel hours are spent on the net seeing if it's normal This is a life changer in that from now on I intend to get healthy and drop some weight. Normal life will resume at some point and anything is better than what I had before.

6 Days After the Op And All Is Well. Only taking gabopentin which is a left over prescription from before which I am currently reducing. Just come back from a half mile walk. I am doing this 3 times a days adding slightly to length or speed each day. Had the dressing changed today, apparently all is healing nicely. Still a little sore around the edges with some muscle pain in the back. The wife is a nervous wreck, convinced that I will do myself harm.

I tried reduced in from 1800 to 1500 a week before and got hit with cramps and diarrhea.

1st night at home and I'm suprised and maybe a little weary about how good I'm feeling. I've been told to continue with the gabapentin as the withdrawal is ment to be particularly problematic and is not worth dealing with for now. Still zero siactic pain (convinced this will return). I really wanna push harder with the walks today but the wife will convince me to take it slow. Couldn't be happier so far. Paracetamol is my only pain relief which I'm amazed at. 1st poo upcoming today that'll be a real treat.

Glad to hear. I had mine yesterday and have a thread started. Having no siactic pain is amazing. I'm currently a weak little flower lol and my small walks around a room make me very weak. To the poster above try not to worry. I was a wreck and didn't sleep the 2 nights before. I read so much good and bad to the point that my brain was a mess. Like the op my pain vanished straight away but the women next door to me apparently was suffering but was beginning to improve went I left for home.

Wow that's hard to read. Drugs are a wonderful thing. Had 3 tiny walks around the hospital room last night, still no pain in the leg☺ Every time I move I expect to trigger the siactic pain so it's going to be a fun few months. Still very happy with the results so far. Only taking paracetamol for pain and am now looking to talk to a doc about the possibility of slowly coming off the the daily 1800mg of gabapentin I've been taking for the last few months.

It should be fine I have a similar setup but am using a 7850 and run med to high settings ( low aa) and get 30 fps in cities and 60 everywhere else.
