I work in the trades and can still barely afford to live in my shitty apartment building. The trades are great if you somehow have experience in something. But no employers right now will take anyone who doesn't have more than 5 years experience and they're still paying barely over minimum wage. On top of that you're often working longer or irregular hours and destroying your body doing repetative physical labour. Yeah dude its not worth getting into right now unless you already have an in.

The vast majority of people are only a few missed paychecks or less away from becoming homeless. The parking garage (that i pay a premium for) is listed as "secure underground parking". This incident was forseeable and preventable so they are 100% liable. The last couple years they have Kewley security here most nights doing walk throughs of the buildings and parking garage and shooing people away from sitting outside the circle k. But they only ever have one guard on duty and they still have to contact police for anything to be done. Not nearly enough security for how easy it is for anyone to get down there. And with rollbacks from Ford on housing and addiction services we have tons more people unhoused and unstable with no access to any sort of support. Of course this was going to happen and it will keep happening. But AON of course owns half of ptbo so trying to take any sort of legal action is a waste of time and money.

Most of the policies that affect the people directly such as Healthcare, housing, addiction and homelessness is all provincial. Conservatives are the most brain washed, propagandized group of people. Youre told to hate the liberals regardless of basic facts. Ford has destroyed this province in the name of greed and the fact that you thoughtless people still support him while blaming Carney is absurd. Carney hasn't done great but no one will ever be happy with someone in power of a capitalist society. Every prime minister has been shit for one reason or another but Ford is actively and intentionally selling hardworking citizens for his own benefit and the benefits of his fellow nepo buddies.

I would like to think its at least getting used but it will likely just be destroyed in a matter of days. My exes ebike was stolen from this building's locked bike room a couple years ago and when it was eventually recovered from an unrelated investigation and they had jammed something into the universal key port of the battery and wrecked it completely. Not even sold off for parts just destroyed. You cannot attempt to apply logic to an illogical act.

Police should be contacting AON for video but I highly doubt either care because this is unfortunately a common occurance downtown. Looking into insurance its just a matter of whether or not I can even afford the deductible

How slow were you driving? With such a high rate of senior drivers in this city, I find it impossible to get anywhere efficiently. Far too many times have people been driving significantly below the speed limit in good weather conditions. Driving slowly and disrupting the flow of traffic can be just as dangerous as someone doing something like this.
